KBS 2TV’s upcoming drama “Oasis” has unveiled character posters of its three leads!
“Oasis” is a new drama about three youths who fight fiercely to protect their dreams, friendships, and first love against the turbulent backdrop of South Korea from 1980 to 1990.
Jang Dong Yoon will star in the drama as the intelligent and pure-hearted Lee Doo Hak, who falls in love with Oh Jung Shin (played by Seol In Ah) at first sight during their school days.
In his poster, Lee Doo Hak sports scars and a bloodied lip that hint at the tough life he’s lived. As he glares fiercely up at the camera, his caption romantically reads, “In a world where monsters are the norm, you were my only oasis.”
Meanwhile, Seol In Ah’s poster shows her character Oh Jung Shin in a glamorous black dress, suggesting that she is inhabiting an entirely different world from her former schoolmate Lee Doo Hak.
Both Oh Jung Shin’s expression as she gazes wistfully back at the camera and the tagline capture the regret she feels as an adult, with the caption cryptically reading, “Why did I let go of your hand back then…”
Finally, Chu Young Woo will play the privileged Choi Chul Woong, Lee Doo Hak’s childhood friend and fated rival. Despite enjoying an enviable status and every advantage, Choi Chul Woong still finds himself consumed by jealousy over the one thing he can’t have.
His poster’s caption reflects the desperation of his hopeless love for Oh Jung Shin, reading, “I desperately wanted you to become my home.”
The producers of “Oasis” commented, “The character posters capture the intense thirst felt by Lee Doo Hak, Oh Jung Shin, and Choi Chul Woong. We hope that you’ll look forward to the story of an unpreventable fate and these three youths fighting fiercely to quench the thirst of a love that never came to fruition.”
“Oasis” will premiere on March 6 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
