Gong Hyo Jin, Kang Ha Neul, And More Get Ready To Face Love In New Poster For Upcoming Rom-Com

Sep 10, 2019

KBS2’s upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama “When the Camellia Blooms” (literal title) has released a new poster of all the main leads!
“When the Camellia Blooms” will tell the stories of three couples in different stages of love. Moreover, the drama will focus on the romance that blossoms between Dong Baek (Gong Hyo Jin) who is trapped in a certain perception about love and Yong Shik (Kang Ha Neul) who shows undying support and love for her.
Along with Dong Baek and Yong Shik, the poster also features the “celebrity couple” Kang Jong Ryul (Kim Ji Suk) and his wife and social media influencer Jessica (Ji Yi Soo). Furthermore, optician Noh Gyu Tae (Oh Jung Se) and his wife, lawyer Hong Ja Young (Uhm Hye Ran), can also be spotted in the poster. With the store “Camellia” in the background, the poster also includes part-time worker Hyang Mi (Son Dam Bi) and introduces Dong Baek’s son Pil Goo (Kim Kang Hoon) for the first time.
In the center of the poster, Dong Baek and Pil Goo are posing together with bright smiles. Pil Goo is a supportive son who comes to his mom’s aid whenever she needs him. Behind the two is Yong Shik, who is only second to Pil Goo in his protectiveness over Dong Baek. Although he seems soft and docile in front of Dong Baek, he becomes terrifying in front of anyone who dares to bother her. While other people think that she is unfortunate to not have any parents or a husband, Dong Baek is the most amazing person in the eyes of both Pil Goo and Yong Shik.
Although the three characters in front are smiling, the other two couples in the background are anything but. With their skeptical attitudes about love, they’re a stark contrast to Dong Baek and Yong Shik who look as if they could conquer anything with love. On the other hand, Hyang Mi is completely unreadable, having an expression that simultaneously looks empty yet deep in thought. Although she seems slightly out of it, Hyang Mi has outstanding observational skills that have detected all the secrets of the people in the town of Ongsan.

Another notable aspect of the poster is the yellow number signs that are normally used by forensic science teams during a crime scene. The production team shared, “In the group poster, the main characters who will lead Ongsan’s romance have gathered in one place. Although it will sometimes be crude and childish, please look forward to the fierce and lovely romance.” They also revealed that the secret to the yellow number signs will soon be revealed through a video.
“When the Camellia Blooms” will premiere September 18 at 10 p.m. KST.
