The star-studded new film “Exhuma” had an incredible opening weekend at the Korean box office!
“Exhuma” is an occult mystery film about two exorcists (played by Kim Go Eun and Lee Do Hyun), a mortician (Yoo Hae Jin), and a feng shui master (Choi Min Sik) who relocate mysterious graves in exchange for a hefty sum of money.
On February 26, the Korean Film Council announced that “Exhuma” had officially surpassed 2 million moviegoers the day before (February 25)—meaning that it took the film just four days to reach the milestone. By 7 a.m. KST on February 26, the hit film had already racked up an impressive total of 2,299,706 moviegoers after topping the box office for four days straight.
Not only did “Exhuma” achieve the biggest Korean box office opening of 2024 thus far, but it also pulled off the amazing feat of recording nearly 2 million moviegoers (1,963,564, to be precise) in just one weekend (February 23 to 25).
Congratulations to the cast and crew of “Exhuma”!
