Ex-Baseball Star Donates W150 Million to Alma Mater

Former basketball player and TV personality Seo Jang-hoon donated W150 million to his alma mater Yonsei University (US$1=W1,192).

Seo, who played for the college basketball team, recently modeled for an ad to promote the university's dairy brand but did not pocket his fee. Instead, he donated the money to help students in need at the university.

In May 2012, before his last season as a professional player, Seo donated his annual salary of W100 million and another W100 million from his savings to the university to help students from low-income families.

He also donated W100 million to the Community Chest of Korea in 2017.
