Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to be at Yeouido Park on Oct. 5 for the Seoul International Fireworks Festival

Colorful fireworks will paint the Seoul skies Oct. 5 for the city's most "explosive" festival of the year.

Hundreds of thousands of joyous people are expected to gather at Yeouido Park next to the Han River for the annual Seoul International Fireworks Festival, now in its 17th year.

According to event organizer Hwanwha, Ichon Han River Park, which is on the northern side of the river, Seonyudo Park and N Seoul Tower's observatory are among the best spots for watching the show.

During the day, the festival also offers various subsidiary events under the theme of "Life is COLORFUL."
