Cho Yi Hyun Exudes Elegance As She Hides Her Double Life In “The Matchmakers”

KBS2’s “The Matchmakers” has unveiled new stills of Cho Yi Hyun!

“The Matchmakers” tells the story of the meeting between the young widower Shim Jung Woo (Rowoon) and young widow Jung Soon Deok (Cho Yi Hyun) as well as the struggle the two go through together to marry off Joseon era’s unmarried women and men who are considered older than the typical prime age range.

Jung Soon Deok is the second daughter-in-law of the first vice-premier’s family and lives a double life as Mrs. Yeo Joo, the best matchmaker in Hanyang City.

The newly released stills share a first glimpse at Cho Yi Hyun’s transformation into Jung Soon Deok. Unlike when she was dressed in vibrant colors of green and purple as matchmaker Mrs. Yeo Joo, Jung Soon Deok is dressed in gentle and soft colors of jade, ivory, and sky blue, exuding an elegant atmosphere befitting of her status.

With an apron around her waist, Jung Soon Deok moves about the kitchen and jangdokdae (terrace used for storing fermented food), smiling brightly as she skillfully takes care of the housework. Viewers are already anticipating Cho Yi Hyun’s portrayal of her character’s double life as the lively and charismatic Mrs. Yeo Joo and the modest and gentle daughter-in-law Jung Soon Deok.

The production team praised actress Cho Yi Hyun for her immersive acting, asking viewers to anticipate “The Matchmakers” which will showcase Cho Yi Hyun’s bright smile and bubbly charms.

“The Matchmakers” is scheduled to premiere on October 30 at 9:45 p.m. KST and will be available on Dramacool.
