More celebrities have contributed to helping the victims of the wildfire in Gangwon Province.
The wildfire broke out on April 4 at approximately 7 p.m. KST near Ilsung Resort in Goseong County, and it soon spread to downtown Sokcho. The following day, a state of disaster was declared for Goseong County, Inje County, and the cities of Sokcho, Gangneung, and Donghae in Gangwon Province. The fire has caused extensive property damage and power outages, as well as the evacuation of thousands of residents to emergency shelters. It was further reported that one person died and 11 people have been injured.
On April 8, Cha In Pyo and Shin Ae Ra donated 100 million won (approximately $87,300) to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association. 2PM’s Chansung was revealed to have donated 100 million won to the organization as well.
Daniel Henney and 13 other actors from his agency Echo Global Group also donated 70 million won (approximately $61,111) to the Community Chest of Korea. The actor personally contributed 50 million won (approximately $43,650) to the total.
The same day, Jung Woo Sung and Lee Sung Kyung both made a generous donation of 50 million won.
All four members of BLACKPINK (Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, Rosé) were revealed to have donated 10 million won (approximately $8,730) each to the relief effort, totaling 40 million won (approximately $34,920).
The main cast members of SBS’s “The Fiery Priest” (Kim Nam Gil, Kim Sung Kyun, Honey Lee) also made a collective donation of 30 million won (approximately $26,190).
Kim Go Eun, Kim Sook, and Jo Bo Ah respectively donated 20 million won (approximately $17,460).
Ahn So Hee also made a donation of 10 million won (approximately $8,730). Other celebrities to donate this amount include CNBLUE’s Lee Jung Shin and Highlight’s Lee Gikwang. The former is currently serving in the military and stated through his Instagram that his parents had made the donation on his behalf.
