BTS has set more than one record on Billboard’s global charts with their new song “Take Two“!
On June 20, Billboard officially announced that BTS’s new digital single “Take Two” had debuted at No. 1 on both Billboard’s Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts, which rank songs based on streaming and sales activity gathered from over 200 territories around the world. (While both charts measure songs’ global popularity, the Global Excl. U.S. chart specifically excludes data from the United States.)
With this achievement, BTS has become the first artist in Global 200 history to have sent a new song to No. 1 every year since Billboard first launched the chart in 2020. (The only other artist to have reached No. 1 every year is Mariah Carey with her beloved hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which returns to the top of the U.S. charts every holiday season.)
BTS is also the only artist to have reached No. 1 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart every single year.
Additionally, BTS has extended their own record as the artist with the most No. 1 songs on the Global 200. “Take Two” is their seventh song to top the chart following “Dynamite,” “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat),” “Life Goes On,” “Butter,” “Permission to Dance,” and “My Universe.” (The artist with the second most No. 1 songs on the Global 200 is Bad Bunny, who has topped the chart with three different songs.)
BTS is also the first artist to hit No. 1 with seven different songs on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, having topped the chart with the same seven songs as the Global 200. (BLACKPINK, who has topped the chart with three different songs, currently holds the record for the second most No. 1s.)
Congratulations to BTS on their numerous achievements!
