Despite the recent proliferation of webtoon adaptations infesting the airwaves – and I use the pejorative because when 미생 (Misaeng) is the best you can get in 18 months, you know we're not dealing with a quality-friendly trend – few people have thought of the closest expedient the drama canon can use to ensure a somewhat painless transition from the webtoon world – the omnibus drama! Be it sketch comedy, puppy love melodrama or even fusion horror, webtoons are often ill-suited for a drama transposition exactly because they weren't made for this longer running, more story-driven medium in the first place. Taking various stories and serving them in small, 20 minute long doses every week is not such a bad idea, especially when they're not monuments to complexity to begin with, and they would falter quickly.
