“A Good Day to Be a Dog” continues to receive love from K-drama fans around the world, and while with ups and downs along its way, the most recent episode had promised to be one of the best ones yet, and surely, it didn’t disappoint. With a lot of scheming, action, and romance under the rain, this week’s episode gave fans a lot to enjoy. But if you haven’t watched it, here you can find some of the most exciting moments from episode 8.
Warning: spoilers from episode 8 below!
In some dramas, the protagonist’s family can be quite a pain in the neck. However, for Han Hae Na (Park Gyu Young), it is her family who proves to be her first and best protectors. First there is her father Han Pan Dong (Kim Hong Pyo), reassuring her and telling her how much she deserves to be loved despite her unique situation, and then there are her sister Han Yoo Na (Ryu Abel) and best friend Song Woo Taek (Jo Jin Se), who never leave her alone after knowing of Kang Eun Hwan’s (Kim Min Seok’s) blackmailing.
And if in previous episodes you wondered why Hae Na and her sister were so afraid of their mother, it becomes pretty clear why that is. Not only does she enroll her husband in her plan to look after her daughter’s ex-boyfriend, she makes sure he can’t escape from them and makes him reveal all the information about Kang Eun Hwan’s plan, finally frustrating it and destroying all of the evidence he has on Hae Na’s curse. Every moment watching Hae Na’s family in action is not only exciting and hilarious, but it is also very endearing seeing how even in the hardest of moments, a true family will always come forward and protect each other.
One of the most thrilling but also nerve-racking moments of this episode is when Jin Seo Won (Cha Eun Woo) confronts Kang Eun Hwan after knowing Hae Na was in danger, fighting fair and square against him. However, as in many cases where the villain is more of a coward than he is willing to accept, he takes advantage of Seo Won’s fear of dogs and brings out his pup, alongside his accomplice, outnumbering Seo Won and knocking him down.
Despite the obvious disadvantages, once Seo Won regains his consciousness, he outsmarts Eun Hwan’s accomplice and runs to Hae Na, arriving just in time to avoid her secret being exposed as Eun Hwan is about to forcibly kiss her. As Hae Na and Seo Won flee the scene, Eun Hwan is left behind, and although at first it seems he won’t get a rightful punishment, it is none other than Lee Bo Kyum (Lee Hyun Woo) who decides his future, erasing all of his memories. In that moment, it is also revealed that his identity is that of an ancient mountain spirit—the one who casted Hae Na’s family’s curse.
In the meantime, Hae Na and Seo Won, who are now frantically running away in the rain—or more like Seo Won chasing after Hae Na—face each other in order to clear out the situation. But although Hae Na puts everything on her to tell him about her curse, she is unable to do it, too overcome by her emotions to even let out her words. It is then when Seo Won confesses his own feelings, declaring that he wants to get closer to Cocoa, letting on that he has already figured everything out. As he sees Hae Na turning into a dog before his eyes, he forgets about his fears, only thinking about his feelings for her, and reaches out to her to kiss her, finally breaking the curse.
