The 2021 KBS Entertainment Awards have announced the candidates for the Daesang (Grand Prize)!
The KBS Entertainment Awards celebrates the talk, reality, variety, and radio shows that have aired on KBS over the past year. This year’s ceremony will be hosted by Kim Sung Joo, Moon Se Yoon, and Han Sun Hwa.
The five nominees for the highest honor of the night, the Daesang (Grand Prize), are Kim Sook, Kim Jong Min, Moon Se Yoon, Park Joo Ho and his family, and Jun Hyun Moo.
Kim Sook is nominated for the Daesang again this year after last year’s momentous win, where she was just the second woman in KBS history to win the Daesang. Just like last year, Kim Sook has been very active on KBS programs, including “Boss in the Mirror,” “Problem Child in House,” “BOOK U LOVE,” and more.
Well-known in the variety circuit for his hosting skills, Jun Hyun Moo is nominated for the Daesang again this year. He has previously won a Daesang in 2017 at the MBC Entertainment Awards. Since 2018, he has been nominated as a Daesang candidate at every KBS Entertainment Awards.
Park Joo Ho is a professional soccer player whose family appears on “The Return of Superman.” He has three children, Na Eun (Eden), Gun Hoo (Aciel), and Jin Woo (Élyséen). Park Joo Ho had previously won a Daesang in 2019 along with the rest of the fathers on “The Return of Superman.”
Moon Se Yoon is not only hosting the 2021 KBS Entertainment Awards, but he has been active as a fixed cast member on “2 Days & 1 Night Season 4.” He had previously won the Top Excellence Award in Variety at the 2020 KBS Entertainment Awards for his work on the show. In 2021, he also appeared as a fixed cast member on KBS’s new show “Godfather,” where male celebrities are paired as father and son, and as an MC on the show “Trot Magic.”
Interestingly, another member of “2 Days & 1 Night Season 4,” Kim Jong Min, has also been nominated for the Daesang. Like Kim Sook, Kim Jong Min has already won a Daesang at the KBS Entertainment Awards, which he did back in 2016. Kim Jong Min has been a cast member of “2 Days & 1 Night” since it first began airing in 2007.
The 2021 KBS Entertainment Awards will air live on December 25 starting at 9:15 p.m. KST.
