Netflix has released a first glimpse of Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi in its upcoming drama “Bloodhounds”!
Based on the webtoon of the same name, “Bloodhounds” is an action noir about two young people who step into the world of loan sharks in pursuit of money and get caught up in a web of much darker forces.
Woo Do Hwan will be playing Gun Woo, who enters the world of loan sharks to pay off his debts. He was once a promising boxer who won the Rookie of the Year award, but after meeting Mr. Choi (Heo Joon Ho), he becomes a bodyguard.
Lee Sang Yi will take on the role of Woo Jin, who met Gun Woo as a rival boxer but eventually ends up working with him. Woo Jin, who has some experience with daily installment, will help Gun Woo, who is ignorant about the private loan business.
Park Sung Woong will also be appearing in the drama as Myeong Gil, a vicious loan shark driven solely by money who will get into a tense conflict with Mr. Choi.
Finally, Mr. Choi will be played by none other than the veteran actor Heo Joon Ho. Mr. Choi was once considered a legend in the private loan industry, but now, he lends money to sick people without interest.
Apart from the four actors, actress Kim Sae Ron was also originally confirmed to star as Hyun Joo, a character who is like family to Mr. Choi. However, after her DUI (driving under the influence) incident last year, Kim Sae Ron halted filming for the drama. Jung Da Eun was later rumored to have taken over her role, though Netflix has yet to comment on the reports.
“Bloodhounds,” which was written and helmed by director Kim Joo Hwan of “Midnight Runners” and “The Divine Fury,” is scheduled to premiere in the second quarter of this year via Netflix and DRAMACOOL.
