Wi Ha Joon and Jung Ryeo Won are taking their relationship to the next level on “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon”!

Helmed by director Ahn Pan Seok of the hit drama “Something in the Rain,” “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” is a romance set against the backdrop of Daechi, a neighborhood known as the epicenter of private education in Korea due to its high concentration of hagwons (private educational institutions).

Previously on “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon,” Seo Hye Jin (Jung Ryeo Won) struggled with her growing feelings for Lee Joon Ho (Wi Ha Joon). Even though she knew he was no longer her pupil, she was still hesitant to start a romantic relationship with him despite secretly reciprocating his feelings. Deciding that it was best for Joon Ho if she pushed him away, Hye Jin firmly rejected him and said they should go back to how they were before.

However, newly released stills from the drama’s next episode reveal that there will be a major shift in their relationship. In the first photos, the typical stoic and unfazed Hye Jin is visibly shaken by something as she breaks down sobbing. After hearing that Hye Jin has burst into tears, Joon Ho rushes to come find her—and he winds up being surprised by what he sees.

Later, when Joon Ho escorts the intoxicated Hye Jin home, she unexpectedly reveals her cute side. Under the influence of alcohol, Hye Jin loses her stern, no-nonsense aura from work as she playfully whispers in Joon Ho’s ear.

Then, once the two enter Hye Jin’s apartment, they immediately share a warm embrace by the front door.

The final photo captures Joon Ho tenderly kissing Hye Jin on the forehead the following morning, raising the question of how their relationship has changed.

The drama’s production team teased, “Seo Hye Jin and Lee Joon Ho, who were moving forward at different speeds, will finally match the pace of one another’s hearts. Please look forward to finding out whether they will enter a new phase [of their relationship].”

They added, “Please also keep an eye on what sort of incident causes Seo Hye Jin to break down sobbing.”
