YG Entertainment’s upcoming survival show “YG Treasure Box” has released a new preview featuring trainee Bang Ye Dam!
“YG Treasure Box” is a new reality program that will determine the lineup of YG Entertainment’s next boy group. On November 15, with only one day left until its premiere, the show unveiled a new teaser clip focused on contestant Bang Ye Dam.
The brand-new preview features footage of Bang Ye Dam growing up over the years as a trainee at YG Entertainment. The “K-Pop Star 2” runner-up joined the agency in 2013, and the new clip shows snippets of his monthly evaluation performances in the years since.
The teaser begins with Bang Ye Dam remarking, “I practiced hard for six years, and I feel like the time has really flown by.” The preview then describes the past six years as “the time that [Bang Ye Dam] spent inside the treasure box,” highlighting various moments from his time at YG Entertainment.
In 2016, when Bang Ye Dam is 15 years old (by Korean reckoning), YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk comments, “It seems like Ye Dam’s grown even more [since I last saw him]. He used to be so small.” A year later, in 2017, Yang Hyun Suk praises the trainee’s skills and says, “The reason that people say Ye Dam is good [at what he does] is that he really is good.”
Finally, the preview ends in 2018, with Bang Ye Dam performing his self-composed track “Betrayer” at the age of 17 (by Korean reckoning). The caption describes him as a “talented trainee who is in the process of evolving into a singer-songwriter.”
After his performance, Yang Hyun Suk asks, “Who made this track?” Bang Ye Dam replies, “I did,” and Yang Hyun Suk says in surprise, “Ye Dam makes tracks now?”
