Disney+ original show “The Zone: Survival Mission” is finally returning with a new season!
“The Zone: Survival Mission” is a unique Disney+ variety show starring Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Kwang Soo, and Girls’ Generation’s Yuri. Together, the three stars will attempt to “survive” eight simulations of future disasters, including a zombie apocalypse.
On May 23, Disney+ confirmed the release date of the highly-anticipated new season of the show with a new poster and teaser that give viewers a glimpse of an even larger scale of new challenges and extreme disaster simulations that the trio will face.
The phrase in the newly released poster reads “The scale of the survival mission has gotten bigger” as Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Kwang Soo, and Yuri can be seen posing at different South Korean landmarks, hinting that the cast members will be traveling around Korea’s most unique regions and places together to challenge themselves with an upgraded version of survival missions.
The accompanying new teaser video kicks off with the new and improved AI making new bigger-than-life and crazier missions that make the cast’s jaws drop. From trying to survive in a haunted hospital, escaping from a deserted island in the middle of the sea, playing games on a terrifyingly high bridge to surviving in a water park full of zombies, the teaser is packed with various disaster situations that hint at much-upgraded fun and teamwork from the group.
The trio also raises viewers’ expectations with their comments throughout the video. Yoo Jae Suk, who can’t hold back his disbelief, remarks, “It’s the first time I’ve ever experienced this in my 30 years [of doing variety show],” while Lee Kwang Soo says, “In this rate, we’re all going to die.” Even Yuri, who in the previous season was known to be the bravest out of the three can be heard saying, “I really want to give up.”
