Watch: Survival Show Group Member Steps Into The Spotlight On “The King Of Mask Singer”

On the latest episode of “The King of Mask Singer,” the identity of “Steamed Clams” was revealed!

During the September 10 broadcast of the MBC singing competition, eight new contestants stepped up to challenge the reigning champion for the throne.

In the first match-up of Round 1, “Steamed Clams” and “Sauna” went head-to-head with a duet version of The Nuts’ “Love’s Fool.”

As soon as “Steamed Clams” entered the stage, the celebrity panelists marveled at his impressive height and physique, wondering aloud whether he was a model.

Although the panelists praised both contestants for their singing, it was ultimately Sauna that won the round. Steamed Clams then remained on stage to perform a soulful cover of Lee Moon Sae’s “Love Always Runs Away,” taking off his mask halfway through the song to reveal his identity.

As it turned out, Steamed Clams was none other than Kim Wooseok of the brand-new group FANTASY BOYS, which was recently formed on the MBC idol survival show of the same name and is currently preparing to make their debut later this month.

After explaining that he chose to sing “Love Always Runs Away” because it’s one of his mother’s and grandmother’s favorite songs, Kim Wooseok shared his hopes and goals for the future ahead of his upcoming debut.

“My goal is for FANTASY BOYS to become a group that can go from winning the Best New Artist award to a Daesang,” revealed Kim Wooseok.

After the episode aired, Kim Wooseok posted two photos of himself posing with mask backstage at the show on FANTASY BOYS’ official Twitter account.

He wrote in the caption, “Wooseokie, who appeared on ‘The King of Mask Singer’!! I was happy to have been able to appear on ‘The King of Mask Singer’! I’ll become an Wooseok that grows even more in the future.”
