Watch: Ryeoun Begs Choi Hyun Wook And Shin Eun Soo To Fall In Love In New “Twinkling Watermelon” Teaser

A new teaser for the fantasy, coming-of-age drama “Twinkling Watermelon” has been released!

“Twinkling Watermelon” tells the story Eun Gyeol (Ryeoun), a CODA (child of deaf adult) student born with a gift for music. However, his life soon takes an unexpected turn when he crash lands in an unfamiliar place after time traveling through a mysterious music shop all the way back to 1995. There, he forms the band Watermelon Sugar with his father Lee Chan (Choi Hyun Wook), who was a high school student at the time, and other mysterious youths.

The teaser starts right off the bat with Eun Gyeol’s shocked voice saying, “Mom? Dad? Auntie?” in disbelief as brief clips of three people, who are definitely much younger than his parents should be, flash by.

This is quickly followed by the caption, “High school students Mom and Dad from 1995?” Eun Gyeol apepars to be stuck in the year 1995, witnessing the unexpected love triangle between his father Lee Chan, mother Chung Ah (Shin Eun Soo), and Se Kyung (Seol In Ah).

The scene then jumps to a shot of Eun Gyeol’s father Lee Chan (Choi Hyun Wook) offering Se Kyung a cone of watermelon sugar ice cream and seeming to be attempting to flirt with her.

Viewers then hear someone ask, “You like him?” referring to Lee Chan, only for Se Kyung to attempt to deny it by saying, “No. But he’s kind of interesting.”

Everything comes to a head when the line, “Mom wasn’t Dad’s first love?” flashes across the screen, finally revealing to viewers one of the drama’s major plot points.

The teaser nears its end on a hilarious note with Eun Gyeol fiercely shaking his father by the shoulders and yelling, “Dad, you need to like Yoon Chung Ah (Shin Eun Soo)!” only for his father to yell back, “Who’s Yoon Chung Ah?!” Meanwhile, Chung Ah appears to have fallen for Lee Chan as he rescues her from the falling books at a secondhand bookstore, raising more anticipation for the love triangle.

Finally, the teaser concludes with Eun Gyeol realizing that the past is moving differently than expected, and he tells Lee Chan, “I asked you to stay by my side for one year, and you can’t even do that?” leaving those watching in shock by misunderstanding the chemistry between Eun Gyeol and Lee Chan.
