Watch: Main Vocalist Of Rising Boy Group Covers Taeyeon + Dances To BTS And More On “The King Of Mask Singer”

On the latest episode of “The King of Mask Singer,” the identity of “Dandelion” was revealed!

During the March 24 broadcast of the MBC singing competition, eight new contestants entered the ring in order to battle the reigning champion for the throne.

In the second match-up of Round 1, “Dandelion” and “Spore” faced off with a duet version of Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon’s hit song “Four Seasons.”

After watching their performance, many of the celebrity panelists speculated that Dandelion was an idol, praising his singing technique and vocal tone. Chuu guessed that he might be a member of BOYNEXTDOOR, while Shim Jin Hwa wondered if he was a member of TWS.

Before revealing the results of the round, Dandelion offered another hint at his identity by performing a special spring-themed dance cover medley. The masked singer took on the choreographies to Wanna One’s “Spring Breeze,” BTS’s “Spring Day,” and BLACKPINK’s Jisoo’s “FLOWER.”

 

Although Dandelion stole the hearts of the crowd, he ultimately lost the round to his opponent Spore.

Dandelion then performed a smooth rendition of Crush’s “Fall,” taking off his mask halfway through to reveal that he was none other than TEMPEST’s main vocalist Hyuk.

When host Kim Sung Joo expressed amazement at the fact that a main vocalist boasted such impressive dancing skills, Hyuk revealed, “I actually wasn’t the main vocalist when I first became a trainee. I thought I was really lacking in terms of both my singing and dancing, so I would stay in the vocal room and practice for over 10 hours at a time. When the company told me, ‘You’re the main vocalist,’ I was overjoyed.”

Finally, Kim Sung Joo asked Hyuk if he had any goals for the future. “Because we haven’t had that much time in between comebacks, [the TEMPEST members] haven’t gotten to go on a vacation together,” said Hyuk. “So I hope that this spring, we’ll all be able to go see the dandelions or cherry blossoms together.”

“I also want to transform my image a bit,” he continued. “So I’m hoping to go topless [during a performance] within this year.”
