After producing director (PD) Kim Tae Ho briefly hinted at Lee Hyori’s upcoming variety show, “Canada Check-In” has finally announced its premiere date along with its first teaser!
tvN’s “Canada Check-In” is a spin-off of “Seoul Check-In” by Lee Hyori and producing director (PD) Kim Tae Ho. The program follows Lee Hyori, who is known to have volunteered with abandoned dogs for more than a decade, as she visits Canada to meet with the dogs she had helped send overseas for adoption.
During her one-month vacation, Lee Hyori travels around Canada in a camping car to visit each dog that she had come to love and care about.
In the first teaser video, Lee Hyori cannot hide her excitement as she wonders whether the dogs will remember her. Even as she starts her journey after arriving in Canada, she beams with joy as she remarks, “Why is my heart fluttering as if I’m about to meet my boyfriend?” The teaser also gives a glimpse of Lee Hyori crying tears of happiness after her long-awaited reunion with the dogs as she shares honestly, “I think I’ll become a fan of this program. I’ll rewatch it until the day I die.”
In addition to meeting the dogs, Lee Hyori will embark on a fun 12-day trip around Canada as she enjoys the beautiful autumn scenery, visits wineries, surfs, shops, and camps in various cities where the dogs are located.
PD Kim Tae Ho remarked, “It was a precious opportunity for the production team to be able to accompany Lee Hyori on her special trip,” adding, “The program will offer everything, from Lee Hyori’s camping car trip around Canada, the various joys presented by seeing the deep connection between human and animal, and to the unpredictable scenes that will make viewers touched, so please kindly anticipate it.”
“Canada Check-In” will premiere on December 17 and air every Saturday at 10:40 p.m. KST.
