SBS’s “Lovers of the Red Sky” gave a look at the intense portrayal of emotions that goes on behind the scenes!
The new making-of video begins with detailed action scenes that require specific instructions from the director. After falling onto the floor, Gong Myung hilariously comments, “Who would have thought that the sealing ceremony would turn out like this? Please film me from an aerial view later.”
Song Won Seok swings his blade towards the enemy, and Ahn Hyo Seop lets out a loud gasp. Although Song Won Seok and the staff believe Ahn Hyo Seop got hit by the blade, Kim Yoo Jung clarifies that she’s the one who got hit. Song Won Seok apologizes profusely while checking her hand, but Kim Yoo Jung explains that she’s laughing because Ahn Hyo Seop yelled out even louder that her. The actor expresses his concern, sharing, “I thought you would be hurt.”
Getting on a horse, Kim Yoo Jung tells Ahn Hyo Seop to grab on, but he replies that he’s okay. Kim Yoo Jung pats the horse, worried that the horse is overheating. After their first take riding away, the director comments, “Ha Ram (Ahn Hyo Seop) looked a bit like he was enjoying this right now.” Kim Yoo Jung doesn’t forget to praise the horse after they finish the scene and even apologizes.
In the next scene with Kim Yoo Jung’s on-screen father, the actors discuss in depth how to film the scene. Ahn Hyo Seop shares, “Actually, for feeling the pulse, they say that using the arm is the more professional way. It’s because they’re checking the flow of the pulse.” Before filming begins, Ahn Hyo Seop explains to the camera that it’ll be Hong Chun Gi’s (Kim Yoo Jung’s) sobbing scene. The camera man comments that the veil on his hat is perfect for shielding away bugs.
Kim Yoo Jung films a tearful farewell with Choi Kwang Il, and even after the scene is over, the two actors remain there for along time while lost in their emotions. Choi Kwang Il discretely wipes his eyes as Kim Yoo Jung continues to shake from her tears. When Kim Yoo Jung eventually gets up and sees the making-of camera, she reassures the viewers with a smile, saying, “I’m okay.”
