The second teaser for “Curtain Call” has been released!
“Curtain Call” is an upcoming drama series that centers around the elderly Ja Geum Soon (Go Doo Shim), an elderly woman from North Korea who owns the Paradise Hotel. As she seeks to fulfill her last wish, an intricate web of secrets, mysteries, and lies begins to form. It becomes tangled with her family, including granddaughter Park Se Yeon (Ha Ji Won), and unknown theatre actor Yoo Jae Heon (Kang Ha Neul) whom she recruits to pose as part of her family, and action begins to unfold just like the plot of a play.
The teaser centers around five characters; Yoo Jae Hun, Park Se Yeon, Bae Dong Jae (Kwon Sang Woo), Seo Yoon Hee (Jung Ji So), Ri Moon Sung (Noh Sang Hyun), showing each of them in a different light with many contrasting sides and characteristics that will leave viewers curious beyond belief.
The short clip starts with Yoo Jae Heon entering the Paradise Hotel for the first time with an awestruck expression and taking his spot on the theater stage. He says, “As long as at least one audience member can feel happy or receive comfort from my acting, that is what being an actor truly is.”
Park Se Yeon is the picture of grace and elegance as she moves through the hotel to fulfill her duties as the manager. But the cold air of mystery that surrounds her cannot be denied as she says, “To be honest, I was a bit worried about what kind of people they are. But you know…” She is then seen with Yoo Jae Heon, looking more open and relaxed as she tells him that it is alright for them to talk comfortably and casually with one another. But does she have something waiting up her sleeve?
Bae Dong Jae is next, saying “We are still parallel lines.” When he sees Park Se Yeon and Yoo Jae Heon together, he begins his pursuit of Park Se Yeon as he adds, “But I’m much more fun.”
Then it moves on to Seo Yoon Hee, a woman who is a part of the same theatre group as Yoo Jae Heon. “I’m playing the role of a wedded couple” she says, and seems to be happy to be acting the part of someone who has fallen in love with Yoo Jae Heon. But is it truly just acting, or is it something more?
Finally, there are short but impactful clips centering around Ri Moon Sung, who can be seen engaging in fights and looking much worse for wear than the other characters. Someone comments, “I guess this friend cannot go backwards,” depicting Ri Moon Sung’s strength and stubbornness. The teaser then draws to a dramatic close with the title appearing on a rippling curtain, signifying that the play has come to an end – for now.
