tvN has released a new teaser for “Mental Coach Jegal”!
The upcoming sports drama is about a former national athlete who quits sports after causing a scandal and becomes a mental coach to help both former professional athletes who have retired and current athletes who have fallen into a slump.
Jung Woo stars as former national Taekwondo athlete Jegal Gil who later becomes a mental coach at the athlete’s village. After he causes an unprecedented accident in the village during his athlete days, Jegal Gil is permanently expelled and coined the unlucky Taekwondo prodigy.
Lee Yoo Mi stars as Cha Ga Eul, a short track speed skating gold medalist who has fallen into a slump. After they meet, Jegal Gil and Cha Ga Eul help each other face their inner wounds and reach turning points in their lives in the process.
Kwon Yool will portray Gu Tae Man, the director of the Human Rights Center of the Korean Olympic Committee. The former Taekwondo Olympic gold medalist has a strong desire for power and is the reason Jegal Gil’s life was transformed overnight.
The teaser previews the unpleasant reunion of Jegal Gil and Gu Tae Man, who is allegedly the one who changed Jegal Gil’s life completely. Kwon Yool starts the conversation by asking Jegal Gil with a smirk, “Have you been well, Jegal?” Jegal Gil reacts with anger as if he wants to poke Gu Tae Man’s eyes out.
In the following scene, a mysterious man holds out his cell phone to show a picture of Cha Ga Eul and says, “Cha Ga Eul. She’s my sister.” He continues, “Cha Ga Eul is missing the spirit of harmony, cooperation, and sacrifice for the team.”
