“The Midnight Romance In Hagwon” has unveiled a delightful new making-of-video!
Helmed by director Ahn Pan Seok of the hit drama “Something in the Rain,” “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” is a new romance set against the backdrop of Daechi, a neighborhood known as the epicenter of private education in Korea due to its high concentration of hagwons (private educational institutions).
In the recently released clip, both actors showcase perfect off-screen chemistry as they exchange acting insights and lighthearted banter, filling the filming set with joy and bright energy.
In one scene, the leads find themselves alone in a classroom, with Jung Ryeo Won standing at the podium while Wi Ha Joon sits at a desk. Jung Ryeo Won begins to suggest different approaches to her acting, asking whether to deliver lines cutely or toss a piece of chalk aggressively. Wi Ha Joon then puts forward the idea of throwing the piece of chalk at him, creating a playful atmosphere within the set.
The latter part of the video captures the actors filming their characters’ old days as a teacher and a student, with Jung Ryeo Won leaning in closer to her student to teach. As Wi Ha Joon attentively gazes at her to express his affection, the director makes everyone laugh by intervening with feedback: “That gaze is way too alluring.”
