tvN’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Parole Examiner Lee” has released a new teaser!

“Parole Examiner Lee” follows lawyer Lee Han Shin (Go Soo), who becomes a parole officer responsible for making final decisions on inmate paroles. Lee Han Shin is determined to prevent inmates who show little remorse for their crimes from obtaining paroles through money, connections, or deceitful tactics.

The teaser opens with Lee Han Shin playfully asking inmate Ji Dong Man (Song Young Chang), the wealthy chairman of Ohjeong Group, “Do you know what the inmate’s favorite ‘bread’ is?” before gleefully answering, “It’s parole bread!” making a play on Korean words, as the last syllable of “parole” (gaseokbang) sounds similar to the word for “bread” (bbang).

Dressed in a lawyer’s outfit and badge, Lee Han Shin grins as a caption appears: “Parole examiner Lee Han Shin, stopping bad guys,” raising expectations about how he will prevent inmates from exploiting the parole system.

The mood abruptly shifts with a commanding shout of “Stop right there!” followed by a loud gunshot as Detective Ahn Seo Yun (Girls’ Generation’s Yuri) makes a dramatic entrance. Dubbed the ace of the special investigation unit, Ahn Seo Yun is a relentless detective committed to achieving justice within the law. Her question, “Can we really stop them this way?” piques curiosity about how she will collaborate with Lee Han Shin’s unconventional methods.

The teaser also introduces Choi Hwa Ran (Baek Ji Won), a legendary loan shark whose profession seems worlds apart from enforcing justice, yet she joins forces with Lee Han Shin. Her remark, “You really seem confident,” as she aligns with his plans suggests a surprising alliance among a parole examiner, a detective, and a loan shark.

In the next scene, Ji Myung Seob (Lee Hak Joo), an unruly second-generation chaebol, is seen partying at a club. A voice chimes in, “It’s ridiculous to grant parole to such a bad person,” indicating that he is unfit for reentry into society. Despite this, Ji Myung Seob, wearing a prison uniform and shaking documents, arrogantly retorts, “I told you, right? You can’t stop me,” suggesting that no one has succeeded in stopping him.

The atmosphere shifts again as Lee Han Shin’s confident voice cuts through, proclaiming, “Let’s get started.” Action erupts: Ahn Seo Yun expertly subdues a suspect, Choi Hwa Ran laughs triumphantly while savoring fruit, and Lee Han Shin examines gold bars with a knowing smile. As the tension mounts, Lee Han Shin declares, “We can’t just follow the rules and fight politely, can we?” hinting at a bold strategy to take on Ji Myung Seob.

In the final moment, Lee Han Shin locks eyes with Ji Myung Seob and delivers a stern warning: “You can’t go back into society. You still haven’t paid for all your actions yet.”
