On the latest episode of “The King of Mask Singer,” “Gingko Tree” blew the audience away with her singing!

During the October 22 broadcast of the MBC singing competition, four contestants continued their quest to challenge the reigning champion for the throne.

In the first match-up of Round 2, Gingko Tree performed a soulful cover of Yangpa’s famous ballad “Novice’s Love.”

After watching her performance, the celebrity panelists heaped praise on Gingko Tree for her skillful singing and clear vocal tone.

Meanwhile, Kep1er’s Yujin and Chaehyun—who were making guest appearances on the panel—seemed to recognize the masked singer. Yujin even asked Gingko Tree directly with a smile, “Don’t we know each other?”

Gingko Tree ultimately won the round and advanced to Round 3, where she sang a beautiful rendition of Lim Jeong Hee’s “I Return.”

Gingko Tree also emerged the winner of Round 3, and she moved on to face off against the reigning champion, “Midas Touch,” in the final round.

Although both singers earned praise for their performances, Midas Touch ultimately defended his title as king, leaving Gingko Tree to reveal her identity to the crowd.

Just as the Kep1er members had guessed, Gingko Tree turned out to be someone they knew: Cherry Bullet’s main vocalist Bora, who competed together with them on Mnet’s survival show “Girls Planet 999″ two years ago.

When asked if Bora was the person they’d been thinking of, the idols confirmed that she was. Chaehyun added, “Recently, Bora suddenly asked me to recommend a song that I thought would suit her [voice]. Now I know why she asked me that.”
