“Brain Works” has shared a making-of clip for the drama’s first two episodes!
KBS 2TV’s “Brain Works” is a brain science-themed comedy-mystery drama about two men who can’t stand each other but who must work together to solve a crime case involving a rare brain disease. CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa plays Shin Ha Ru, a brain scientist who possesses a very “extraordinary brain,” having everything except humanity. Cha Tae Hyun plays Geum Myung Se, a very nice and considerate detective with an “altruistic brain.”
Before filming, the cast and crew of “Brain Works” set up a good luck ritual called gosa to wish for the drama’s success.
While taking a break during his first filming, Jung Yong Hwa shares, “For starters, I think my chemistry with Tae Hyun is really great so I’m really looking forward to [the drama]. I’ll have to see him for the next six months so I hope I can be of help. I have so, so many lines so until we’re done, I think I’ll have a bit of a hard time for the next six months. However, this is a project that I think will be very memorable, so I will do my best.”
Cha Tae Hyun expresses concern and encouragement for the staff of “Brain Works” and adds, “More than anything, I think my body will be tired while Ha Ru’s mind will be tired. I hope he memorizes his lines well. Although he is doing so well now too.”
Later, the drama films at the KBS Open Hall with O15B’s Jang Ho Il for his cameo as Jae Won. After introducing himself, he comments, “Since this was a musician role, it wasn’t too awkward, so I tried to film as enjoyably as possible.” While laughing, Jang Ho Il adds, “Also, I left as soon as I appeared, but it’s an incredibly important role! Please take interest in my acting and I hope that you give the drama lots of love.”
Jung Yong Hwa diligently prepares for his autopsy scene by asking a professor detailed questions and explaining, “Today’s my first time so I even watched a real-life brain autopsy.” After making a minor mistake, Jung Yong Hwa makes everyone laugh as he comments, “Sorry! That was a rehearsal.”
