TVXQ Sets New Oricon Record With Concert DVD

TVXQ has set another record!

Released on December 19, TVXQ’s DVD “東方神起 LIVE TOUR 2017 ～Begin Again～Special Edition in NISSAN STADIUM” topped Oricon’s weekly DVD chart.

This marks the tenth time TVXQ has held the No. 1 and has set a record as the foreign artist with the most No. 1’s on Oricon’s weekly DVD chart. In addition, TVXQ’s total DVD and Blu-ray sales topped Oricon’s weekly combined music video chart for the second week in a row. The previous record was also held by TVXQ when they achieved this feat in April.

On December 27, Oricon announced this on its homepage with the title, “TVXQ, Legendary Live DVD No. 1, Sets Best Record for Foreign Artist.” The article stated, “TVXQ received No. 1 on Oricon’s weekly DVD ranking for its eighth consecutive release and a total of ten releases topped No. 1. They once again set a personal record as the foreign artist with the most number of No.1 DVDs.”

This DVD is a recording of TVXQ’s final Nissan Stadium Tour concert from June, where the boy group was the first to perform at the stadium for three days. With this tour, TVXQ set a record of attracting a total of one million concertgoers during a short tour, and proved their immense popularity in Japan.

TVXQ released their 15th-anniversary special album “Chapter #2: The Truth of Love” and MV for title track “Truth” on December 26.
