Tantai Jin decided to find a way to make Ye Xiwu fall in love with him, so he chose a gold flower necklace and silver jewelry, rouge and sweet desserts for Ye Xiwu. Ye Xiwu ran to thank Tantai Jin, and when he asked her if she liked her presents she said no. She told him that if he wants to give someone a present he has to give something that the other person wants and that will make the other party happy. Ye Xiwu told Tantai Jin that what she wants was for him to accompany her to watch the stars by the lake. When they were on the swing watching the stars she remarked to him that she misses her home not the one here but ac Changze Mountain where she loves watching the stars and fireflies when she was a child. Tantai Jin magically filled the area with fireflies. This made Ye Xiwu very happy. The two ran around chasing fireflies.

The two armies of Sheng State and Jing State faced each other in a stalemate, but King Sheng asked the army not to retreat, but the soldiers analyzed the battle situation, and the soldiers of Sheng State crossed the Mo River and attacked Jiaguan directly, and the soldiers would not be able to keep up. Xiao Lin knew that this was Tantai Jin's strategy of advancing by retreating and luring the enemy deep. Tantai Jin found a piece of a star meteorite and gave it as a birthday gift to Ye Xiwu because he knew Ye Xiwu loves stars. This is the imperial mausoleum where Tantai Jin's mother and concubine Rou are buried. Tantai Jin took Ye Xiwu to pay homage to his mother and introduced Ye Xiwu as his wife. Ye Xiwu promised that she would often accompany Tantai Jin to pay homage to Concubine Rou in the future. She told Concubine Rou that Tantai Jin is now the King and is living well. Happily, Tantai Jin asked Ye Xiwu to choose where to be buried in the imperial mausoleum in the future and also hoped that one day Ye Xiwu would really love him wholeheartedly. But Ye Xiwu knew in her heart that she was Li Susu, and she couldn't really fall in love with Tantai Jin in this life. He said he understands that it will take some time.

King Sheng intercepted Tantai Jin's military report, but he was very dissatisfied with Xiao Lin's delay in not sending troops. He ordered Xiao Lin to lead troops to the north within three days. Soon Tantai Jin learned of the news of Xiao Lin crossing the river, and he brought Ye Qingyu to rescue Jiaguan, intending to capture Xiao Lin alive before the battle and destroy Sheng Guo's fighting spirit.

Sheng Wang learned that Xiao Lin led the troops to withdraw, and angrily declared Ye Bingshang to enter the palace as a hostage as soon as possible, so as to force Xiao Lin to capture Jiaguan as soon as possible. Xiao Lin knew that she could not disobey the holy order, so she told Ye Bingshang that if she died in battle, she would not have to keep the chastity, but she could find a good relationship to spend the rest of her life. Although Ye Bingshang claimed that she was willing to live and die with Xiao Lin, she also knew that it would be difficult for Xiao Lin to protect her.

Tantai Jin haven't receive a letter from Ye Xiwu for half a month. He was quite troubled in his heart, so he ask his right hand guard for the reason, but he responded back saying he should handle it because it is his own family matter.  

Ye Xiwu finally reached Tantai Jin's camp after half a month journey. Pianran told Ye Xiwu that she knew she was among the guards and pointed her to where Tantai Jin's tent.
