Just seven months after their debut, rookie boy group The Wind has announced leader Shin Jaewon’s departure.
On December 6, With US Entertainment announced that Shin Jaewon would be leaving The Wind due to personal circumstances.
As a result, The Wind—who officially debuted this past May—will be moving forward as a six-member group.
The agency’s full statement is as follows:
"Hello. This is With US Entertainment.
First, we sincerely apologize for having to give WHIZ [The Wind’s fandom], who are always thinking on The Wind’s side and always sending them lots of love and support, cause for concern through this unfortunate news.
Due to personal circumstances, The Wind member Shin Jaewon will be leaving the group as of December 6, 2023.
As a result, we are informing you that The Wind will be carrying out their future scheduled activities as a six-member group.
We promise to do our utmost and work our hardest to give The Wind’s activities our unsparing support as they make a new start.
We ask that you give your unchanging love and warm support to the six members of The Wind who will continue to grow and walk towards their dreams.
Once again, we apologize to the fans who must have been surprised by this sudden news.
