tvN’s “The Uncanny Counter 2” has shared a thrilling sneak peek of the upcoming episode!
Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, “The Uncanny Counter” is a superhero drama starring Jo Byeong Gyu, Kim Sejeong, Yoo Joon Sang, and Yeom Hye Ran as demon hunters with supernatural powers. Two and a half years after the first season’s successful run, the drama is returning with its long-awaited second season with new evils including Pil Gwang (Kang Ki Young), Gelly (Kim Hieora), Wong (Kim Hyun Wook), and new character Ma Joo Seok (Jin Sun Kyu).
The newly released stills preview the sudden shift in the dynamic between the two evil partners Pil Gwang and Gelly. While Pil Gwang pulls Gelly into his arms with psychokinesis, Gelly readies her signature sharp hand weapon and positions it at Pil Gwang’s neck as if she’s ready to fight him.
In another scene, Gelly pays a visit to Wong who is now in prison. Due to his memory being wiped clean after the evil spirit inside him was summoned by Choo Mae Ok (Yeom Hye Ran), Wong can no longer recognize Gelly. The still piques viewers’ curiosity as to why Gelly decides to visit her old partner.
Other images capture the tense face-off between Ma Joo Seok and Pil Gwang, marking their first encounter since Ma Joo Seok transformed into an evil spirit. Ma Joo Seok’s sinister grin and intense gaze as he grabs Pil Gwang by the collar exude his formidable malevolence. Meanwhile, Pil Gwang’s chilling smile and satisfaction-laden eyes when locking gazes with Ma Joo Seok hint at a potential shift in alliances, leaving viewers wondering if he might abandon his lover Gelly for a new partnership with Ma Joo Seok.
The next episode of “The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch” will air on August 19 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
