Season 2 of the action-packed con drama “The Player” has just released its first set of stills!
“The Player 2: Master of Swindlers” serves as the highly anticipated sequel to OCN’s 2018 hit series “The Player.” The series followed a con artist, a hacker, a fighter, and a driver who worked together to take down the wealthy and corrupt.
Returning after six years since Season 1, “The Player 2: Master of Swindlers” has confirmed the return of Song Seung Heon, Lee Si Eon, and Tae Won Suk, while welcoming Oh Yeon Seo and Jang Gyuri to the dynamic ensemble.
Song Seung Heon is set to reprise his role as conman Kang Ha Ri, the mastermind behind the swindlers’ elaborate operations and schemes. In this new season, Kang Ha Ri will evolve into a more meticulous and daring figure, determined to dismantle the ill-gotten gains of those who exploit the efforts of others.
Oh Yeon Seo takes on the role of Jung Soo Min, a mysterious enabler and observer who leads Kang Ha Ri back into the game. As the one who gathers the swindlers in a grand scheme, she is a strategist full of leadership and charisma.
Lee Si Eon returns as Lim Byung Min, a hacker capable of manipulating any computer network with ease. Despite appearing timid and whimsical at first glance, Lim Byung Min is a character with unique humor, wit, and deep consideration for others.
Tae Won Suk also reprises his role as the strongest fighter in the team, Do Jin Woong. Despite his impressive physical and fighting skills, Do Jin Woong also has a cute charm to him.
Jang Gyuri steps into the role of the newly introduced driver, Cha Jae Yi. Beneath her cold and stern exterior lies a tender-hearted individual, offering a compelling contrast to her outward demeanor.
The production team commented, “Through the thrilling teamwork action of the swindlers who defeat villains and achieve justice in their own way, we aim to offer a refreshing catharsis to blow away the summer heat.”
While “The Player” originally aired on OCN, “The Player 2: Master of Swindlers” is set to premiere on tvN on June 3 at 8:50 p.m. KST as a follow-up to “Lovely Runner.”
