However, he is not ready to give up on this case and asked his immediate senior to give him some time to bring Myung-joon and Ro-hee to him. He is given only two days and Sang-yoon does not waste any time to begin looking for clues. His first stop is the orphanage where Myung-joon grew up, where he gets insight into what really happened with his previous murder case.

Turns out that it was an accident that happened during a martial arts competition, however, it wrecked Myung-joon badly and he was unable to forgive himself. Later, he married Seo Hye-eun his friend at the orphanage and later the two had a child. This brings Sang-yoon’s focus to Hye-eun, however, he is now focused on the incident from 30 years ago when Park Cheol-won attacked Choi Jin-tae’s father.

On the other hand, Myung-joon tries to make the most of his last day with Ro-hee without letting her know of his departure only to fail because it is not easy to hide from her. Instead of getting angry, Ro-hee tells him that she has given up on finding the killer of her parents after getting most of the memories back.

That night, Sang-yoon meets a nurse who had worked at the hospital where the incident with Park Cheol-won happened. The nurse tells him that Cheol-won had meant to attack Choi Dong-eok after assuming that he had failed to save his wife and child, when in truth the surgery was never done by Choi Dong-eok. Unfortunately, Cheol-won ended up attacking Choi Dong-eok’s daughter after which he quickly settled the case with him.

Sang-yoon understands the incident, however, he tells the nurse that Choi Dong-eok only had a son by the name Choi Jin-tae and there was no daughter. But the nurse tells him that it was a daughter as she was the one who used to braid her hair. Later, he finds out that Choi Jin-tae was adopted two years after this incident.

As for information about Hye-eun, she had participated in a clinical trial on the day of the incident and the details are not accessible. On the other hand, Eun-sun treats Myung-joon’s wound after which he sees Ro-hee sitting indoors reading a book. He then decides to take her out to the beach and gives her a time filled with fun and laughter.

He later tells her that he is relieved that the people here seem to care about Ro-hee, however, she tells him that she is useful to them which is why they are treating her kindly. She tells him that Eun-sun’s daughter has a developmental disorder which is why she is so invested in this experiment.

If she is worthless to this experiment, then their lives too will become worthless to Eun-sun. She then tells him to never tell her the truth about being experimented upon and abused by her father if she ever loses her memories again. She wishes for Myung-joon to lie to her about being her father again.

They rush to find Hye-eun while elsewhere, Ro-hee looks through the news on her parents’ murder. The Kidnapping Day Episode 5 Review

Episode 5 brings out secrets, Ro-hee’s pain and a bigger danger for the runaway duo who are going to be on the run once again. This episode brought us to Ro-hee’s pain and this was really a heartbreaker because she was made to remember that pain once again.

Meanwhile, finding out that Hye-eun was once adopted by Choi Dong-eok, Choi Jin-tae’s father, it seems like there is a deeper secret behind the Choi family’s research. And this also brings us to the possibility that Ro-hee too may have been adopted like what Choi Dong-eok did back then.

Thus, this may all be a revenge planned not just by CHeol-won but also by Hye-eun, and probably mainly Hye-eun. However, listening to Ro-hee’s request today, there’s also a possibility that she will lose her memories again and this time Myung-joon will be her father forever.

Myung-joon really is the right choice for the genius Ro-hee and while the two give us some good laughs, they also melt our hearts.
