Stray Kids has just achieved an incredible feat on the Billboard 200!
On June 11 local time, Billboard announced that Stray Kids’ new album “★★★★★ (5-STAR)” had debuted at No. 1 on its famous Top 200 Albums chart, which ranks the most popular albums in the United States.
“★★★★★ (5-STAR)” is Stray Kids’ third album to top the chart, following their previous mini albums “ODDINARY” and “MAXIDENT” from last year.
Not only is Stray Kids now the first K-pop act in history to have all three of their first chart entries debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, but they are also the first artist since Harry Styles to achieve the feat.
Additionally, the group is only the second K-pop artist ever to top the Billboard 200 more than once, following BTS.
According to Luminate (formerly Nielsen Music), “★★★★★ (5-STAR)” earned a total of 249,500 equivalent album units during the week ending on June 8. The album’s total score consisted of 235,000 traditional album sales—marking the biggest U.S. sales week of any album since Taylor Swift’s “Midnights”—and 14,000 streaming equivalent album (SEA) units, which translates to 19.55 million on-demand audio streams over the course of the week. The album also racked up 500 track equivalent album (TEA) units in its first week.
Congratulations to Stray Kids on their amazing achievement!
