On May 17, News1 reported that Song Hye Kyo and Han So Hee, who were reviewing offers to star in the new mystery thriller “The Price of Confession” (literal title), decided to turn down the offers after long discussions.
In response to the report, Song Hye Kyo’s agency UAA briefly commented, “We are in the process of checking. It is difficult to answer precisely at this moment.” Han So Hee’s agency 9ato additionally responded, “We also learned about the news that actress Han So Hee’s appearance in ‘The Price of Confession’ got canceled from the reports. We are currently checking the related information.”
“The Price of Confession” depicts the bloody chronicle of two women surrounding a murder case.
Studio Dragon, the production company in charge of producing “The Price of Confession,” expressed regarding their position, “Casting-related matters are handled exclusively by our co-producing company Production H. We do not know anything in this regard.”
Production H’s parent company SLL also remarked, “Because there isn’t a specific person in charge within Production H, SLL is delivering statements regarding ‘The Price of Confession’ on their behalf. We are currently trying to figure out what happened.”
After the casting reports broke out last year, Song Hye Kyo and Han So Hee amped up excitement for their union in a new drama by cheering each other on publicly via their social media accounts. On May 10, Song Hye Kyo also showed support for Han So Hee by sending a coffee truck on set of her new drama.
Previously in January 2023, director Lee Eung Bok of hit projects including “Sweet Home,” “Jirisan,” and “Mr. Sunshine,” turned down the offer to helm the drama due to conflicting schedules. It was further reported today that producing director Shim Na Yeon, who was offered to helm the drama after director Lee Eung Bok declined the spot, also decided not to join “The Price of Confession.”
