Netflix’s upcoming series “Mercy for None” has announced its star-studded cast lineup!
On October 27, “Mercy for None” revealed the cast lineup consisting of So Ji Sub, Heo Joon Ho, Ahn Gil Kang, Lee Bum Soo, Gong Myung, Choo Young Woo, and Jo Han Chul. Furthermore, the casting lineup teased the special appearances of Cha Seung Won and Lee Joon Hyuk.
Based on a webtoon, “Mercy for None” depicts the story of two gangs that survived a fight for supremacy in Seoul in front of the National Assembly Plaza in Yeouido. The story centers around a man who begins to uncover secrets after the sudden death of his younger brother.
So Ji Sub will transform into the leading role of Gi Jun, the man who slashes his own heel and leaves the world of gangs. Returning to the noir action genre for the first time in 11 years since his film “A Company Man,” So Ji Sub is already raising excitement for his portrayal of Gi Jun’s cold journey for revenge.
“Stranger” and “The Roundup: No Way Out” star Lee Joon Hyuk will make a special appearance in the drama as the role of Gi Jun’s younger brother Gi Seok. After Gi Seok leaves his older brother, he grew his organization Joowoon into a corporation and became an executive director, but he faces a mysterious death, sparking a new case.
Heo Joon Ho will play CEO Lee Joo Woon of the organization Joowoon that Gi Jun was a part of, while Ahn Gil Kang will take on the role of Gu Bong San, the head of the rival organization Bongsan. Heo Joon Ho previously captivated audiences with his charisma in “Kingdom,” “Escape from Mogadishu,” and the “Missing: The Other Side” series, while Ahn Gil Kang also charmed viewers in numerous projects including “Sell Your Haunted House” and “Tale of the Nine-Tailed.”
“Hansan: Rising Dragon” and “Extreme Job” star Gong Myung will take on the role of Joon Mo, the successor to Bongsan, which also became a corporation from its origins as a gang like Joowoon.
Choo Young Woo, who impressed through “Police University,” “School 2021,” and “Oasis,” will play the role of Geum Son, the son of Lee Joo Woon who is currently distancing himself from the gang as an incumbent prosecutor. However, he will raise tension within the drama with his unpredictable ambition.
Furthermore, “The Roundup: No Way Out” star Lee Bum Soo will portray Shim Sung Won who seems to be involved in Gi Seok’s death as the CEO of Enclean, which is in charge of cleaning up the scene of the crime that the gangs committed.
Jo Han Chul of “Rebron Rich” and “Casino” will play right hand man Sung Chul who is the closest to the boss Lee Joo Woon.
Cha Seung Won, who impressed in “Believer” and “Night in Paradise,” will make a special appearance as Mr. Kim, who exists for the purpose of coexistence of the two organizations.
