Kim Hye Yoon talked about what it was like filming for variety shows such as “Happy Together” and “Ask Us Anything” in a recent interview.
She shared, “It was so much fun, but I was nervous. I didn’t know there would be so many cameras. When I’m acting, I don’t have to look at the camera. But when I was showing off my personal talents, I had to look at the camera. I wondered, ‘How do I look at it,’ or when I was looking into the camera, I thought, ‘Is it okay to do this.’ It was interesting.”
Kim Hye Yoon remarked, “I don’t really talk much, so I felt pressured when it came to talk shows. I thought that if I couldn’t say anything funny, I would at least work hard at reacting [to others]. So I did my best at reacting. I saw that my face was red all the time when I watched the broadcast.”
She laughed and said, “After ‘Happy Together’ aired, Kim Bo Ra asked me ‘Have you appeared on a show as an audience member before?’ Because what I saw on TV was right in front of me, it felt like I was watching TV. Everyone took good care of me so I was able to finish it well.”
On filming with Yoo Jae Suk, Kim Hye Yoon commented, “I finally saw the Yoo-neu-nim (God Yoo) that I had only heard of. He truly observes well when everyone’s talking and waits until he catches their reactions to engage with them in the end. Kim Bo Ra was nervous because she’s scared of variety shows, so he kept taking good care of her. I finally understood why they call him Yoo-neu-nim.”
She then talked about filming with Kang Ho Dong on “Ask Us Anything.” She shared, “I didn’t interact with Kang Ho Dong much, but it was a lot of fun. I heard he was scared of Ye Seo [Kim Hye Yoon’s character on ‘SKY Castle‘] so there was a part in a skit where I got angry, and that was a lot of fun.”
Kim Hye Yoon picked Super Junior’s Kim Heechul as the person that helped her the most during filming. She explained, “Because I joined in the middle, it took a bit of time to adjust. That’s why I thought I just needed to win the games, but it was so much fun to see the other seniors throw around the wrong answers.”
She added, “When I said ‘Blood Sweat & Tears’ as the wrong answer, it was actually Kim Heechul who helped me with that. He told me, ‘Go sing ‘Blood Sweat & Tears.’ I’ll dance next to you.’ At the time I was surprised, but I’m so thankful that he cared for me in that way.”
