TVING has unveiled new character posters for its upcoming drama “Yonder”!
Set in the future, “Yonder” tells the story of a man who lives in agony because he is unable to forget his wife after she dies of cancer. One day, he receives a message from his late wife inviting him to a virtual reality based on her memories before her death, and he abandons his body in order to reunite with her. The drama will depict a world where one can live forever without death, and it will make viewers wonder about the meaning of eternal life, death, memory versus oblivion, and happiness versus unhappiness.
Shin Ha Kyun will star in the drama as Jae Hyun, a reporter at Science M who lives an empty life after his wife’s passing. His poster introduces him as “Jae Hyun, a man who has been invited to the world of his dead wife.”
Han Ji Min will play the role of Jae Hyun’s late wife Yi Hu. Knowing that she doesn’t have much time left to live, Yi Hu plans for eternal happiness after her death by signing a mysterious contract that eventually leads her husband to the world called “Yonder.”
Her poster describes the character as “Yi Hu, a woman who chooses the post-death world.”
Notably, even though Jae Hyun and Yi Hu couldn’t be closer in their couple poster, their gazes don’t meet—suggesting that even while existing together in Yonder, they may not be entirely on the same wavelength.
The producers of the upcoming drama remarked, “As ‘Yonder’ is the story of Jae Hyun and Yi Hu that begins with death, the chemistry and acting synergy between the actors was especially important. And we think that Shin Ha Kyun and Han Ji Min were the perfect choice, to the point where we couldn’t ask for more. As they switch back and forth between life and death, between reality and ‘Yonder,’ they will add to the immersive quality of the story with their acting and chemistry.”
“Yonder” will premiere on October 14.
