“Secret Royal Inspector & Joy” And “IDOL: The Coup” Join Ratings Race As “The King’s Affection” Hits Personal Best

Two new Monday-Tuesday dramas have premiered!

With its premiere episode on November 8, “Secret Royal Inspector & Joy” showed a solid start with an average nationwide rating of 4.961 percent according to Nielsen Korea. Airing on tvN, “Secret Royal Inspector & Joy” is a comedic historical drama starring 2PM’s Taecyeon and Kim Hye Yoon.

Also new to the ratings battle is JTBC’s “IDOL: The Coup,” a realistic drama about the struggles of idols with a cast including Hani, Kwak Si Yang, and Kim Min Kyu. Airing at the late 11 p.m. time slot, the first episode scored an average nationwide rating of 0.751 percent.

Meanwhile, KBS2’s “The King’s Affection” once again hit a personal best with an average nationwide rating of 7.8 percent for episode 9 on November 8. This is a 0.2 percent increase from its previous high of 7.6 percent, which was achieved with episode 8.
