Kangta will not appear in the musical "Hedwig." |
Singer-actor Kangta is leaving the coming musical "Hedwig" after recent scandals.
The show is set to premiere on Aug. 16 at the Hongik University Daehakro Art Center.
Production company Shownote announced Kangta's withdrawal on Tuesday.
"We decided to cancel all of the specific shows that were scheduled to feature actor Kangta and tickets for these shows will be refunded entirely without any fees," Shownote said.
Kangta's departure from the musical follows cancellation of his song release on Monday.
Kangta is a first-generation K-pop star from five-member boy band H.O.T. (High-five Of Teenagers). It reunited in 2018, 17 years after it disbanded.
The singer has not commented on the future of a planned September concert in Gocheok Sky Dome.
