– Change Days Season 2 Episode 3 review contains mild spoilers –
After a stormy episode 2, Change Days season 2 episode 3 starts with only 11 days left for the final decision. It’s the day of the second date and after some very emotionally charged moments, we’re back for some more drama.
As the couples start going on their dates, the hosts make a great point that really got me thinking about the connection that all of these new couples seem to share with each other – that when they started dating their present partners, they too must’ve felt similar feelings back then as well. Because when you start dating someone, you focus on the good things. The annoying bits come up later.

This point really resonated with me as I watched the rest of the episode. Change Days season 2 episode 3 has some very sweet moments coupled with extremely uncomfortable junctures.
In this episode, again, the couples who agreed on second dates get time to mingle and talk to each other. Now that they know their professions and almost everything about their background, there seem to be genuine bonds getting created, as you see them relate to each other.
Their conversations are very intimate and when you juxtapose them with the conversations between their old partners, left at home with their imaginations, you realise why these 6 people are looking outside of what they have. When you watch them opening up to each other and getting more comfortable, it almost feels sweet. Like you’re watching two people fall in love without reality haunting them back at home.

However, the situation is obviously more complicated here. Although the new couples sit on yachts and show their vulnerability, there is a set of people who have a very different range of emotions that will make your heart sink.
The old partners find camaraderie in the awkward situation in which they find each other and it’s equal parts sad and uplifting. Sure, they might just be playing second fiddle in their own relationship but there seems to be a friendship bubbling just underneath the surface of the rejection that they have all faced together.
So, it’s a conundrum watching this episode, really. On one hand, the dates are cute as all heck, but on the other hand, the sad faces and wild imaginations of the past partners seem very sad. You just want them to go back home so that they can be spared this extremely awkward and cringy moment of their lives.
Coming to the hosts, they are as delightful as ever. They actually give some really good insight that makes so much sense in hindsight, both for the episode and in general. It’s delightful. Code Kunst, especially, has some really interesting observations that he makes that will really pull your interest towards the show.

At one point, in a slow descent to madness, the contestants who didn’t go on dates play a very sad lie detector test and the feelings you have watching them do this to themselves are brought to life by the hosts. It’s so wholesome and entertaining… and extremely uncomfortable.
Now, coming to the drama – that happens after the dates are over, of course. But I must mention here that Change Days season 2 episode 3 isn’t as dramatic as some of you might want it to be. Sure, it has a lot of elements to it but the drama that we are presented with in the end seems a bit deliberate and silly, but also… totally expected between two people who are not on the same page regarding their relationship.
I think that’s what is most interesting about this series. It just has a lot of realistic moments that might seem really silly and annoying, but if you think about it, that’s exactly how it works in our relationships as well – when the camera isn’t rolling, if you will.

In the end, the episode leaves us feeling a bit morose in spite of the fairytale-like dates. Your heart goes out to the partners who chose not to go on second dates. But then again, there are more sides to this coin and we, as reality TV hogging drama llamas, can’t wait to see more.
