Nov 9, 2021

Lee Kyu Hyung made a special appearance as an aspiring start-up business owner in the episode 3.

When a new customer (cameo by Lee Kyu Hyung) finds his way to 2nd Generation Coffee Shop, it fits his preference well. An introvert who has specific requirements in selecting his coffee shop for working on his business venture, he gets into the veins of Gobi.

Gobi whines on how he’s only ordering at most two cups of coffee and stays at the cafe almost all day. His presence sometimes even hinders prospective regulars to do their business because he has become a fixture.

Park Seok lectures Gobi not to blatantly express his disgust, but the young barista can’t help but create signals to the aspiring start-up owner that he is not welcome.

Until one day, the soon-to-be-owner stops coming. Gobi wonders if his subtle offensive signs were the reasons for not making the coffee shop his office anymore.

Thankfully, he arrives again one day announcing he is meeting an investor at the coffee shop. Gobi even goes the extra mile to coax a couple already sitting on his favorite seat for his important meeting to proceed.

Successfully securing an investor, the coffee shop also impressed the investor and gets their business card since she plans to change the coffee beans served at her business’s pantry.

This episode shows how Gobi still has a long way to go in terms of maturity. Lucky for him, he has Park Seok to teach him not just preparing coffee, but being a compassionate human.

Conveying to him the wisdom of opting to be kind when you have the opportunity to do so, he even used the success story of J.K. Rowling who drafted the Harry Potter series at a cafe. He emphasized the loss the world would have missed if The Elephant House was not friendly back then to the struggling writer.

Pointing out the importance of extending help to strangers, there will be people like Gobi who will not be as open in assessing and appreciating the hard work of budding innovators. Park Seok is a great representation of how people with the means to help can emulate him to push the dreams of these game-changers to fruition.
