Recap Korean Drama "Today’s Webtoon" Episode 4

In Today’s Webtoon Episode 4, Ma-eum has the challenge to convince Artist Na to revise his webtoon episode. Na gets angry at Ma-eum for telling him that his webtoon is boring but she talks to him as a fan of the webtoon, which convinces him to revise the episode. Na is under extreme stress and Ma-eum stays at the office to keep a check on him until he finishes the new episode. Na finishes the new episode overnight and it turns out to be good. All the fans rejoice as their favourite webtoon makes a strong comeback. Ma-eum learns her lesson and apologizes to Ji-hyung.

Jun-yeong has taken an interest in comic books and wants to do his best at his job. After getting off work, he bumps into Heo, who tells him the reason why he was assigned to the webtoon team. Heo clearly hates the webtoon team and asks Jun-yeong to be the disposal in charge of the team, meaning to get rid of the entire team slowly. He gives Jun-yeong time to think about it.

Heo gives hard time to Editor Jang to approve the webtoon camp but has to approve it because Heo’s boss has not given up on the webtoon team yet. Jun-yeong gets compliments from the team for achieving the difficult task of convincing Bbom to attend the camp as a mentor.

Ma-eum selects an amateur artist for the webtoon because she thought his perspective and story were fresh even though he lacked in the drawing. Ji-hyung supports her and shortlists the artist. The webtoon camp starts with enthusiasm and many rookie artists are excited to show their webtoon to experienced artists and get their feedback while some were looking down on other artists. Ma-eum notices the artist that she had selected, Shin Dae-ryuk. She has seen him before and he was the weirdo who blocked an old man’s way and called Ma-eum’s face interesting. She thinks if she made a mistake by selecting him.

During the camp, Ma-eum understands Shin Dae-ryuk better. He works in a hospital and is surrounded by negative emotions and dead or ill people. He draws the people he sees alive because they give him the motivation to draw. On the final day, the artist Jun-yeong guided makes an impressive presentation which gives him happy about his job. Some artists are rude and Shin Dae-ryuk faces a lot of criticism for his drawing skills. He is not phased even when other rude artists try to provoke him.

Today’s Webtoon Episode 4 Ending

Some artists who had made fun of Dae-ryuk earlier think that he is a quitter and spills water on his drawing tablet on purpose. They say to him that he will never debut but Dae-ryuk replies that he will definitely make a debut before them. The artists start to beat him but he doesn’t lay a hand on them. Instead, he starts imagining the story for his webtoon in his head. Dae-ryuk is an exceptional artist waiting for someone to acknowledge his art.

Today’s Webtoon Episode 4 Review

Today’s Webtoon Episode 4 is hopeful and motivating. It takes us through a difficult situation of choosing what is better for us. There is never a clear answer to this question and all we can do is make our current situation the best we can. This goes for Ma-eum, Jun-yeong, Shin Dae-ryuk and all of the Webtoon service team.
