Recap Korean Drama "Today’s Webtoon" Episode 2

In Today’s Webtoon Episode 2, Jang Man-chul and his team are worried as to why Artist Baek has asked to return all of his manuscripts. Seok Ji-hyung heads out to meet the artist and Ma-eum follows him. The artist refuses to see anyone and Ma-eum apologizes to Ji-hyung because she thinks it’s her fault for telling him to read the comments. However, Ji-hyung tells her to take it easy because they don’t know the real reason yet. They wait outside Artist Baek’s house for two days but still he doesn’t meet them. They have no choice but to wait for him to come back. Man-chul’s boss is ready to see him fall and provokes him.

Ma-eum is optimistic and believes that the artist will come back. She hears middle schoolers getting disappointed after reading the notice of Baek’s break. She is enthusiastic about her job but Jun-yeong is already tired. His team leader is making him do all of his work as well and he hears from his colleagues from other departments that the Webtoon team will be dissolved after a year. This makes him more pessimistic about his job. After listening to artists complain all day, his boss sends to Bbom who rudely asks him to change the light bulbs. It doesn’t stop there and he has to unclog her toilet because she poured sand in it.

While watching a documentary about Michelangelo, Ma-eum realizes what is wrong with Baek’s changed style of drawing that everyone had noticed. Baek’s assistant told Ji-hyung that his other assistant left him and sent him screenshots of all the hate comments on his webtoon to tell him to quit working. Ma-eum and Ji-hyung finally get to visit Baek, and Ma-eum tells him how his angle of drawing has been affecting his drawing but that doesn’t mean he cannot draw anymore. At the same time, his previous assistants visit him and insist on helping him complete his webtoon. Baek gets back to drawing and even starts learning digital drawing.

Man-chul arranges an office dinner for the success of getting Baek back onboard and Ma-eum impresses everyone with her drinking capacity. However, Jun-yeong is not a drinker and takes a soda but accidentally picks up the wrong glass and drinks a sip of beer. He passes out right away and Ma-eum brings him to her home because no one knows his address. Ma-eum’s father comes back from his trip earlier and mistakes Jun-yeong for a thief but Ma-eum runs away without helping him. She apologizes to him later at the fan sign event of an artist.

Today’s Webtoon Episode 2 Ending

After the fan sign event, both Ma-eum and Jun-yeong travel back together and Jun-yeong asks Ma-eum why she is so enthusiastic about the job because he is doing his best but still doesn’t thinks it’s enough. Ma-eum tells him to wait and find his moment but he is not convinced. Next day at the office, his boss teases him for unclogging the toilet and the word also spreads among his friend group. Jun-yeong is annoyed and is ready to resign if they don’t transfer him to another department. Ma-eum overhears him talking over the phone and asks him not to resign.

Jun-gyeong gives Ma-eum an earful instead and tells her that the company has given her a fake promise and she can never be a permanent employee because the company won’t exist anymore. He tells her that they are only using her to throw away after a year, so she should find a job she can survive on after a year.

Today’s Webtoon Episode 2 Review

Today’s Webtoon Episode 2 shows Ma-eum’s character as an optimistic and enthusiastic person but she calls herself a simple person. She doesn’t have many expectations from life or has big ambitions. She lives in the present without worrying about tomorrow.
