Recap Korean Drama "The Golden Spoon (2022)" Episode 7

The Golden Spoon episode 7 starts off with Lee Seung-cheon becoming Hwang Tae-yong once again. While Hwang Hyun-do very smoothly gets rid of all evidence pointing towards Tae-yong’s meeting with Na Sang-gook, Seung-cheon has no idea about any of this and has to avert when Hyun-do talks about their discussion earlier that day.

While Hyun-do promises that he will make sure to protect his son, Young-sin tries to sneak around and find out what happened before Tae-yong returned home drunk. On the other hand, a maid is busy burning Tae-yong’s clothes from the previous night.

Elsewhere, Seung-cheon remembers the words of the old lady while looking at the ten-year time period that has begun on the spoon. During this time, Hyun-do reprimands Mun-ki for not being with Tae-yong when the incident happened.

The next day during Na Sang-gook’s funeral, Seung-cheon tries to comfort Ju-hee but she doesn’t recognise him and rushes to Tae-yong as soon as he enters. Suddenly, Ju-hee’s brothers start arguing which disturbs the service and when she tries to stop them, it is revealed that the eldest brother has sold his shares to Seo Jun-tae.

Upon hearing this, Seung-cheon leaves to find out what has happened but is stopped by CEO Oh which reminds him of the past year he had spent in his house. He soon makes a complaint at the National Tax Service against his company which creates trouble for him and angers Oh Yeo-jin.

He then helps his family in a very subtle way which brings happier days for them. When Mun-ki asks him the reason for always helping “Seung-cheon’s” family, he just laughs and tells him that he is Hwang Tae-yong only to help Lee Seung-cheon before brushing it off as a joke.

The next day he goes to find Jun-tae’s financial backer Alex Boo who helped him in purchasing the Na company shares from Ju-hee’s brother. He successfully persuades him in shifting sides from Jun-tae to himself which puts his uncle in a frenzy.

When Hyun-do asks his reason for doing this, Seung-cheon tells him that it is because he is a real member of this family while Jun-tae is not. In addition to this, it is not the right time to purchase these shares because of President Na’s recent death which can damage the Doshin Group’s image.

Convinced by this, Hyun-do is impressed by him while Young-sin who has witnessed everything passes this on to Jun-tae. She tells him that Tae-yong is behaving weirdly for the second time which gets Jun-tae thinking and making connections between the night he came drunk and President Na’s death.

The next day, Ju-hee tries to get Hyun-do’s help in finding out the truth about her father’s death but doesn’t get the desired results. On the other hand, Jun-tae finds out that the surveillance has been tampered with on the night Tae-yong came back drunk.

The following day, Ju-hee goes to discuss the inheritance with her brothers and takes Tae-yong with her. He sees the documents her brothers have passed on to her and tells her to not sign them as her brothers have manipulated the documents and suggested she hire a better lawyer.

They then leave the place but on the way out, he notices a painting that finds out that it is an original piece by a well-known artist. This catches Alex Boo’s attention who tells him that he was the one who hung the painting and he is the first one to recognise it. He then hands him some money and is impressed by his attitude.

Elsewhere, Seung-cheon visits his sister and sneakily gives her his contact details while Park Jang-goon overhears her conversation with her mother as they discuss meeting outside. He passes on this message to Yeon-jin who tells her father to ask Seung-cheon’s mother for forgiveness if he wants to escape the chaos.

On the other hand, Tae-yong gets side dishes for Ju-hee and kisses her when she suddenly pushes him away. Right then the doorbell rings and Seung-cheon arrives and begins to eat the food. He then informs Ju-hee about the things that her brothers have done and that her father had taken a private loan which will be made to fall on her.

Ju-hee is stunned by this and leaves, but he follows her to apologise and also let her know that the house she is living in will also be auctioned off soon. She is still in shock and asks him to leave as she is unable to be thankful for everything that he has said.

The Golden Spoon episode 7 ends with, Tae-yong and Lee Chul returning back when they witness CEO Oh begging for forgiveness from Jin Sun-hye while revealing what he did the previous time. This shocks Lee Chul while the angered Tae-yong punches him for the words he has said.

Lee Chul also arrives to hit him when CEO Oh suddenly offers to pay him a hundred million won which makes him stop as the former takes this chance to escape. However, after he gets inside his car to escape, Tae-yong takes over the driver’s seat and drives him away with the intention to kill.

On the other hand, Seung-cheon is brought to meet Alex by Hyun-do but leaves the meeting as soon as Seung-a informs him of what has happened. He rushes to fix the situation while warning Tae-yong of the problems that could have been created because of this.

However, Tae-yong is unable to accept this situation while elsewhere, Lee Chul and Sun-hye share an emotional moment. On the other hand, Jun-tae gets hold of an important theory that can change Seung-cheon’s fate while Hyun-do makes plans with Alex to teach his son a lesson.

Later the same day, Jung-tae shows off in front of Seung-cheon for having gotten back his deal with Alex while subtly hinting towards his involvement with President Na’s murder. Seung-cheon has no idea what he is talking about when suddenly the police come and arrest him for President Na’s murder.

The Golden Spoon Episode 7 Review

The show is getting better with each passing week and is slowly getting us intrigued by the plot. While Seung-cheon continues to work on this path, I’m sure that someone is soon to notice what is happening. If this happens then I hope that it is Hyun-do so that Seung-cheon can strike a deal with him, however, things don’t go the way we want.

On the other hand, I’m impressed how Ju-hee is somehow able to feel that the person whom she thinks is Seung-cheon is someone else. If the situation were a little better for her then she would have known more but that obviously won’t be happening.

Today the one who struck me the most has to be Hyun-do who has always been seen as a stern father, but as we have seen, he holds deep respect for his former wife and is a parent who is ready to protect his son at all costs. On the other hand, the poverty faced by Lee Chul has reached a point where he is unable to resist bending down for money.
