Recap Korean Drama "Taxi Driver" Season 2 Episode 2

Taxi Driver Season 2 (모범택시 2) is the sequel to the crime thriller drama of the same name directed by Lee Dan, starring Lee Je-hoon, Kim Eui-sung, Pyo Ye-jin, Jang Hyuk-jin, Bae Yoo-ram, and Shin Jae-ha, alongside other cast members.

The sequel of the Kdrama brings us new adventures of the Rainbow Taxi crew as they set to punish a new bunch of criminals while facing some old faces that are back for revenge. As bigger and more dangerous challenges await the team, the exciting game is back with new looks and new faces in the team.

The show will have 16 episodes and will be broadcasted on SBS on the Friday-Saturday slot at 10 PM previously occupied by Payback: Money and Power. Taxi Driver season 2 episode 1 has a run time of 65 minutes.

Taxi Driver season 2 episode 2 begins with Sung-chul losing contact with Do-gi who himself is in deep trouble. Sung-chul then contemplates calling Go-wun when she herself calls him and tricks him into finding out what the two have been up to.

Elsewhere, Kyung-goo and Jin-eon use their wits to find out Lee Dong-jae’s last location from the police station and soon leave for Vietnam. Meanwhile, Do-gi finds Dong-jae’s scribbles in the book given to him when he hears the ruckus outside that has been created by another man who has managed to escape.

However, the security isn’t too keen on catching him and we soon see him entering a restaurant for help which turns out to be owned by the gang members. On the other hand, Do-gi manages to free himself from the cell and goes around looking for his glasses to connect with Sung-chul, however, he is surprised to find Go-eun on the other side.

He then requests for her to make him a gaming program and shows it as his work the next day to fool the goons. They are excited by this feat and show the program to the higher-ups when suddenly, the game stops working and Do-gi puts the blame on the goons. Looking at this play, the goon’s boss tells Do-gi to build another program and points to the goon to set an “example”.

Do-gi is taken to another room when the runaway man is brought to have his ankle cut off, but Do-gi saves him on time and requests them to let the two men in the room who came along with him help him build the program.

Do-gi’s request is fulfilled while the boss teaches the goon a lesson. Do-gi sees some of their fellow men leaving while the three settle in their new room. Do-gi then asks for them to help him out here and the two comply with his request. Elsewhere, Kyung-goo and Jin-eon come across Madam Lim and escape as quickly as they can.

Do-gi then once again leaves the room and makes his way out of their boundaries while the other two men pretend to work with a dummy. On the other hand, the goon tries to make the program work again and inserts the pen drive containing the game file into one of their computers, hence, giving access to Go-eun to hack their system.

Do-gi is then almost raided by his taxi drivers, but not before he teaches them a lesson and steals their ride. He then kidnaps the guide who brought them all to the company’s location and asks him for information about the racket.

He then sees Kyung-goo and Jin-eon and picks them up which leads him into finding out Madam Lim. He then quickly devises a plan to make the various teams of this racket regroup and purposefully shows himself to Madam Lim. She finds out that he has asked for alcohol to be sent to an address and makes her way there the next day.

She leads an attack on the building and compels the goons to escape with the workers and regroup with the other teams. Do-gi successfully makes his way to the headquarters, while the goon is beaten up for his move. Right then, the main boss comes out and Go-eun, who is watching this through Do-gi’s glasses, is shocked as it is none other than her senior from the police station.

Taxi Driver season 2 episode 2 ends with us finding out that it is the police chief who spoke to Dong-jae’s father when he went to the police to file a missing complaint. She tells Do-gi his real identity and asks him to be safe. The police chief then orders the men to “get rid” of the workers who have been brought here and they are taken to write a suicide note for their families.

Do-gi chooses this moment to rebel and begins to fight back with all the goons present. He beats them all up and begins his chase of the police chief, this takes them to an abandoned amusement park where the police chief stands in front of him with a gun.

However, before he can pull the trigger, another bullet is shot from elsewhere which pierces him and he dies right then and there. Do-gi is shocked by this sudden turn of events and looks around only to find nothing. The local police soon arrive and the news of this gang is revealed to the world.

Later, Do-gi takes Dong-jae back home for a touching reunion with his father while we viewers are finally shown the picture of the Rainbow Taxi team standing all together and ready for more cases ahead. However, this comes after Go-eun and Kyung-goo confirm their resignation from their jobs.

We are then shown a post-credit scene which takes us back to that shot in the amusement park as a voice speaks on call to make sure to find out everything about Kim Do-gi.

Taxi Driver Season 2 Episode 2 Review

Another spectacular episode finally brought an end to the premiere week but has also got us all intrigued as to what is going to happen next. This curiosity comes from the new character who has entered a short scene today and the mysterious voice holding the gun and speaking to another, more powerful voice.

While we are all also rejoicing the Wang Taozi return, and the Rainbow Taxi reunion, there is no doubt that the mysterious villain has already taken the step to excite us all season.
