As Da-hyun goes over what she learned about the incidents 18 years ago, Dong-nam reels from the realisation of what he had done years ago. The two walk back home, Da-hyun clearly doesn’t remember who he is, and Young-hun acts very suspiciously in front of her that she isn’t able to catch on to. She is confused by his odd mannerisms, and it seems like she is uncomfortable around him, but she doesn’t make the connection to her past.

Meanwhile, Bok-hee calls Jung-ho over to discuss things with him – he is the only person who seems to know everything about the past, along with her family. We also get to know here that Jung-ho helped her get rid of the body to protect Bok-hee and Da-hyun. The two lament at not telling the police the truth – had they done it, the other perpetrator would have been caught by now.

Meanwhile, Da-hyun talks to her grandmother about everything that she has learned and gets a call from Gye-hoon, who asks him why she’s sad. Her sadness affects him as well, and he’s concerned for her well-being, although she isn’t able to give him a straight answer.

At the restaurant afterwards, in Link: Eat Love Kill episode 14, Da-hyun finally brings up the courage to tell Gye-hoon the truth about her mother and had she reported the incident, Gye-young could’ve been found alive. Gye-hoon is hurt and confused and is unsure whether to comfort Da-hyun or be mad at her.

The next morning, Gye-hoon tells Jin-hoo that they will be moving after he takes care of some personal matters. He mentions that he’s sick and tired of this neighbourhood, and it’s best if they leave. Just then, Bok-hee comes to the restaurant to speak to Gye-hoon.

She tries to apologise for her actions, for not being strong enough to report the incident. However, Gye-hoon tells her that he won’t be entertaining her apology, nor will he give her a chance to soothe her guilt. He refuses to engage with her further and simply asks her to leave, at which point, Bok-hee finds Da-hyun standing outside the door.

Things don’t seem to be great between Da-hyun and Gye-hoon either and neither is it between Won-tak and the police department as the former drops in his resignation. That night, Jung-ho asks Da-hyun about the incident from years ago as he attempts to piece together the truth. Meanwhile, Da-hyun mentions that things between her and Gye-hoon are icy at the moment, giving rise to a rather difficult situation.

A flashback scene takes us back to when things were rather rosy and cute and the difference between then and now is especially heartbreaking at the moment as both Da-hyun and Gye-hoon mull over the future of their relationship.

The next morning, Min-jo finally adds two and two as she witnesses Eui-chan playing the same tune that Won-tak played when they were dating. It’s a heartbreaking scene as we watch Eui-chan’s exceptional piano skill, something that will probably forever remain forgotten thanks to the neighbourhood’s incorrect branding of an innocent.

Meanwhile, Gye-hoon is called to the police station surrounding Jin-geun’s death. There’s a sense of heartbreak surrounding the situation for him – a time of innocence lost too soon, and he, his family and his friends are all separated by a tragedy that could’ve been avoided had everyone decided to work together instead of casting doubt.

Afterwards, Gye-hoon finds himself at his mother’s place, another reminder of a life that he wishes he had. He hugs his mother, who tells him to talk to his father more often. As the discarded remains of a once happy family make him find comfort in small childhood memories, Da-hyun, too, is left rather morose.

At the police station, meanwhile, Jung-ho asks Young-hwan who was in charge of sweeping the empty houses in the area. The latter doesn’t remember and doesn’t connect the dots, and incidentally, Jung-ho later shares a drink with Young-hun and shares his miseries of the past with him.

Young-hwan, on the other hand, looks into Jung-ho’s surprising question and finds something striking – Jung-ho was the one who searched the murder house and, in his drunken state, remembers leaving searching that particular house to Young-hun that night. He, too, puts two and two together and realises that he had something to do with Gye-young and Da-hyun’s abduction.

As Young-hun drives Jung-ho home, the latter makes the decision to hint that he remembers everything from that night 18 years ago, resulting in Young-hun drugging him unconscious. Meanwhile, Dong-nam drinks himself into oblivion and later asks Gye-hoon to help him, mentioning how his sister won’t leave him alone, taking Gye-hoon by surprise.

At the same time, Dong-sook meets Da-hyun to ask what he knows about her husband’s involvement in Gye-young’s death. Dong-nam, on the other hand, decides to tell Gye-hoon everything. Meanwhile, Young-hun, too, tells Jung-ho the incidents from that night.

Young-hun and Soo-chul abducted the children, the latter of whom he was going to get rid of once everything was over. Unfortunately, the girls escaped, and after Da-hyun ran away, Gye-young came across Dong-nam after successfully hiding from her kidnappers. Unfortunately, Dong-nam left her there in the street, even though she begged him to help her, after which she was again taken by Young-hun.

After learning that had he not slacked off at his work, Jung-ho could’ve saved Gye-young, he asks him to just kill her. Meanwhile, Gye-hoon is in disbelief as Dong-nam asks him why he should’ve had to help his sister when he himself was going through so much in his life.

On the other hand, Da-hyun feels Gye-hoon’s heartbreak and immediately calls and asks him what’s going on – Gye-hoon simply tells her that he misses her. She immediately runs to him and hugs him, and it clearly eases Gye-hoon’s pain.

As Link: Eat Love Kill finishes its last leg of the story, the question remains as to how Da-hyun and Gye-hoon will work on their relationship, considering everyone now knows about the incidents from 18 years ago.

The mystery surrounding the abduction is believable, although the motivation is still a bit unclear. Young-hun seems like a rather nonchalant person when it comes to his crimes, but maybe that’s what makes him believable and chilling. I liked where they decided to end the episode as well as the direction of the story. I wished that the perpetrator would’ve been someone we knew a bit more, but I guess the ones who are the least suspicious always turn out to be child killers.

Anyway, I am getting a bit confused with Da-hyun and Gye-hoon’s hot and cold relationship. It’s bound to happen, of course, considering the trauma, but it’s still sorta annoying in a way. I am guessing that they will choose to move past their problems together (hopefully with a therapist) and stay together, but at this point, I wouldn’t be shocked if they choose differently either.

Eui-chan’s storyline is the most heartbreaking of the lot, considering the hardship he was going through and the fact that he got into something he didn’t get into in the first place. Personally, Dong-nam getting haunted by Gye-young is totally called for, but you just can’t help but feel absolutely heartbroken for Eui-chan, who was essentially framed by Young-hun.

In the end, Link: Eat Love Kill episode 14 gives us some really emotional moments to think about, especially Gye-hoon and his mother’s storyline. It’s a good episode that takes the correct direction with regard to the story, but the protagonists really need to figure out what they want to do with the relationship at this point.
