Jul 11, 2022

Link: Eat Love Kill (링크: 먹고 사랑하라 죽이게) is a fantasy-drama series directed by Hong Jong-chan and starring Yeo Jin-goo and Mun Ka-young in lead roles. The series consists of 16 episodes and will be taking over tvN’s Monday and Tuesday 10.30 PM KST slot, previously occupied by Military Prosecutor Doberman. The series will air from June 06, 2022, to July 26, 2022.

Link: Eat Love Kill episode 11 starts with the other side of Da-hyun getting accosted by Jin-geun at the library – Gye-hoon feels Da-hyun’s feelings and rushes off to find her and then she drops the bomb that she knew Gye-young when she was young.

A shocked Gye-hoon asks her what she’s talking about and he asks a bunch of questions. Although Gye-hoon doesn’t want to believe what she’s saying and doesn’t want to believe Jin-geun’s words, Da-hyun tells him that there’s something more going on than what meets the eye. And much to both of their frustrations, she cannot remember what she witnessed 18 years ago.

Gye-hoon asks her to immediately remember everything, in that case, and asks her why she can’t be more careful. He mentions that he doesn’t want to find anyone if that means losing her – she can’t disappear from his life, as promised. Gye-hoon looks at her bruise with sadness and guilt, wondering what would have happened if things didn’t go as they did.

Thankfully, the two apologise to each other later and hold hands as they walk back home, but Da-hyun can’t help but think back to Jin-geun’s statement that she can’t be with Gye-hoon, and the reason is rooted in their past. But, for now, things seem rather hopeful and warm.

Anyway, back at home, Da-hyun finally figures out that since it’s been a long time, people might have changed some parts of their houses and it might not be a red door anymore. Meanwhile, Gye-hoon still can’t stop thinking about Da-hyun’s bruise. She gets nightmares about her past and is fascinated when she sees him up as well.

Later, however, she is shocked to find her mother and grandmother having a chat with Jung-ho in the wee hours of the night in Link: Eat Love Kill episode 11. They are shocked to learn that Da-hyun was assaulted and Bok-hee promises to never lose her again, making Da-hyun, who is listening in secretly, curious.

The next day, Da-hyun’s family ask her why she didn’t tell them about Jin-geun and she bluntly asks them whether they are planning to seriously kill him if they find him. She further asks them whether there’s something that she should know that they are not telling her, but they refuse to tell her anything. She iterates that she doesn’t have anything to tell them either, in that case.

At work Link: Eat Love Kill Episode 11, Da-hyun and Gye-hoon flirt with each as they work and giggle as Eun-jung and Jin-woo watch them and laugh. On the other hand, Won-tak tries to build up the courage to talk to his father but even though they face each other on the road, he can’t bring himself to talk to him. Eui-chan, however, recognises his son but doesn’t try to converse with him.

At the station in Link: Eat Love Kill episode 11, however, his anger towards Young-hwan makes him glare at him and Min-jo has to save him to stop the situation from escalating. Min-jo later asks him what’s going on but he doesn’t want to get into it and instead asks her to access some CCTV off the record to find Jin-geun.

Meanwhile, Gye-hoon gets a phone call and rushes off with Da-hyun to the supermarket. And although you’d think it’s something very important and deadly by the look on his face, he’s just excited to shop of produce since someone is going to visit the restaurant. They spend some time in the supermarket and then cook together in a rather warm few scenes.

It turns out to be some time discussing Jin-geun with Won-tak and Min-jo. The dinnertime interaction is extremely awkward but entertaining and the two couples ask each what is going on between them, taking turns. The awkwardness is hilarious, especially when Gye-hoon starts to wipe Da-hyun’s face very romantically!

Afterwards, Gye-hoon asks Won-tak whether he met Eui-chan. However, he mentions that it would be thoughtless of him to go to him because years ago, even though his father told him to believe in his innocence, Won-tak asked him not to contact him anymore. Gye-hoon mentions that he envies him, regardless of what happened between Won-tak and his father in the past.

The next day in Link: Eat Love Kill episode 11, the refrigerator is back in the alley and everyone from both the food places are looking at it with questioning eyes. Turns out Won-tak wants it for his home and Da-hyun realises too late that it’s her boyfriend’s birthday. Meanwhile, at home, a heartbroken Gye-hoon realises that his mother threw out the seaweed soup that she had made for him.

After an uncomfortable time with his mother, where neither is happy to be in the situation, Gye-hoon goes to the park and Da-hyun meets him there as a surprise and they spend some great time together. Her presence makes a host of a difference to Gye-hoon’s rather sad day. But, in spite of this heartwarming exchange, there’s someone in the shadows waiting and watching, casting a dark shadow.

That night, Gye-hoon gets a surprise cake and Da-hyun rushes out to check the red door house to understand why she’s having these bad feelings. However, Gye-hoon’s thoughts are interrupted when Jin-geun gets there to give him a birthday present. As they go somewhere else, Da-hyun goes out as well.

At this very seedy location in Link: Eat Love Kill episode 11, Jin-geun spills the beans about something – he tells him what happened the night Gye-young disappeared. 18 years ago, in lieu of a gaming device, someone recruited Jin-geun to take Gye-young to their place. If he took her there, he would get the game. He took her to the red door house, where she eventually disappeared.

Gye-hoon is honestly left shocked, now that he is holding that stupid game in his hand. He screams and beats the crap out of Jin-geun before asking him who it was that directed him to do something this bad. Jin-geun asks him to ask Da-hyun who it was, since she knows as well. But when Gye-hoon mentions that he knows that she is a possible witness, Jin-geun starts laughing, indicating that she’s more than just a witness.

Meanwhile, Da-hyun goes into the red door house in the middle of the night to investigate. Jin-geun continues to tell Gye-hoon that he took Da-hyun to the red door house as well in lieu of game cartridges and that she was supposed to be another victim to a horrendous crime. In the present, Da-hyun goes down that to the same basement she did 18 years ago. Inside a small room down there, she remembers her memories from the past – when she found Gye-young and was abducted in that basement with her friend.

Listen, there are a lot of things that I can get into, but Jin-geun’s mind is not one of them. I am left shocked and thoroughly engrossed after this episode – what was Jin-geun thinking?! And also, he left Da-hyun to die at that place but is now in love with her? I guess it’s all just a sick game in his mind, but who the heck does this to another person?

This is one of the best episodes of Link: Eat Love Kill till now, which strikes a great balance among comedy, romance and thrills. The way the series goes from romance to tragedy is absolutely wonderful, and I can’t wait for the next one to get some answers.
