Still From Kiss Sixth Sense
Kiss Sixth Sense episode 1 starts with Hong Ye-sool who seems to have a sixth sense about things, at least her weather forecast seems to indicate so. She is an AE, the leader of the advertising department in her office, and it seems like everyone around her is somewhat aware of her sixth sense – her boss even gives her a good talking to thanks to a badly done advertisement, mentioning why her sixth sense didn’t warn her that this was going to happen.
Either way, Ye-sool is very confident in her capabilities both in terms of work and her sixth sense abilities. Her workplace is nothing short of a war zone, as, I guess, is everyone’s workplace when it comes to Korean drama shows! Cha Min-hu isn’t an easy boss to be with either – he’s the best in the business but is also extremely hard on his employees. It’s also interesting that he hands over his credit card (or the company’s credit card?) every time Ye-sool is flustered. It’s interesting more so that Ye-sool has learnt to be exactly like Min-hu with her subordinates.
Ye-sool’s ability, or sixth sense, is that she can tell a person’s future if her lips touch someone’s body. She got to know about it when she was a child and she kissed her sick relative’s hand and saw their grim future. From that point onwards, it has continued to happen again and again and it has affected her relationship with everyone as well as her social life tremendously. But, at this point, she has more than accepted her fate and resigned to the fact that kissing people is mostly out of the picture for her!
Moreover, for some reason, she can’t stop drinking energy drinks and coffee although, apparently, she can die from drinking so much. In spite of her doctor and Min-hu repeatedly asking her to rest, she keeps pushing herself, resulting in her getting nasty nose bleeds and a myriad of health issues. That and the fact that she has made her work as her life partner results in some very much foreseen problems. It’s sad, honestly, because you know she wants to be with someone, but this nasty sixth sense issue has really messed her up as a person.
But, Ye-sool is really good at her job and we see that over and over again. Whether it be handling Oh Ji-young or creating presentations and being there with Min-hu at every step of the way. Speaking for Min-hu, Kiss Sixth Sense episode 1 gives the indication that Ye-sool might have a crush on him, thanks to them closely working together and them being similar in more ways than one. During a production faux-pas, she falls on Min-hu, as she usually stumbles around everywhere, and once her lips touch him, she sees them romantically together – a future she isn’t sure she is ok with!
