“Radiant” Ratings Rise With Reveal Of Surprising Twist

JTBC’s “Radiant” shocked viewers with an unexpectedly heartbreaking twist in its latest episode.
According to Nielsen Korea, the March 12 episode of “Radiant” enjoyed a rise in its viewership ratings, scoring an average of 7.9 percent nationwide for the evening. The drama performed even better in the Seoul metropolitan area, where it scored an average rating of 9.5 percent.
“Radiant” continued its winning streak as the most-watched Monday-Tuesday drama of the night, followed by KBS 2TV’s “My Lawyer, Mr. Joe 2,” which scored average ratings of 6.3 percent and 7.3 percent for its two parts.
SBS’s “Haechi” trailed at a close third with average viewership ratings of 6.1 percent and 7.2 percent, while MBC’s “The Item” scored average ratings of 3.4 percent and 4.1 percent. Finally, tvN’s new drama “He is Psychometric” drew an average viewership of 2.2 percent for its second episode.

On the latest episode of “Radiant,” the drama revealed that Kim Hye Ja (played by both Han Ji Min and veteran actress Kim Hye Ja) was not a time-traveler at all, but instead suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. The 25-year-old Kim Hye Ja turned out to merely be the older Kim Hye Ja’s memory of her youth, and the man that she remembered as the young version of her late husband Lee Joon Ha (played by Nam Joo Hyuk) turned out to be the doctor at her nursing home.
The next episode of the drama will air on March 18 at 9:30 p.m. KST.
