PSY’s “Gangnam Style” Becomes 1st Korean MV To Hit 5 Billion Views

PSY’s iconic music video for “Gangnam Style” has made YouTube history once again!

On December 30 at approximately 5:47 a.m. KST, PSY’s legendary music video for his 2012 smash hit “Gangnam Style” surpassed 5 billion views on YouTube.

“Gangnam Style” is now the first Korean music video ever to hit the 5 billion mark on YouTube. (The first Korean-produced video to achieve the feat was Pinkfong’s children’s song “Baby Shark Dance,” which currently holds the title of the most-watched YouTube video of all time at over 13.8 billion views.)

PSY originally released the music video for “Gangnam Style” on July 15, 2012, meaning that it took the song about 11 years, 5 months, and 15 days to reach the milestone.
